Fantastic 5.0
this was possibly the highlight of my whole trip. I loved every second of the performances and they left my jaw dropped. I know The Monkey King is the hero but honestly the demon girl stole my heart and I was rooting for her more. would definitely recommend and would definitely go again. if you are in taiwan, specifically Taipei then you must go to this performance.

One of the best travel experiences! The pre-performance activities that started at 7pm were so fun. The show started at 8pm and was very easy to follow along the plot of the show, especially with the subtitles in English, Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin. I believe they provided free taxis back as well. I would recommend to anyone and I'd go again if I ever visit Taipei again!

Such a unique cultural experience! I'm so happy we found this in Klook as I think this is severely underrated. It was a light yet action packed performance with some tumblings/acrobatics and live orchestra at the side. They had teleprompters in English at the side so foreign audience can follow the plot. There were also pre-performance activities and merch at the foyer area - which are free or surprisingly cheap - I got a magnet for 30 TWD. There were also a costume fitting photobooth and face paint area for kids - all for free! We also got to meet and take photos with the cast after-show. I wish more people get to see and appreciate this!

It was our first time to be at Taiwan traditional theatre. We cannot express our feelings enough about it, such a wonderful night we have had not only the show but also the experiences at pre-show. Staffs are very friendly and kind, they spoke 4 languages which were in English, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean that made our checked in process much easier. Highly recommended when you’re traveling in Taipei.

I'm not very familiar with this troupe, but every actor on stage demonstrated great professionalism in their singing, dialogue, acting, and martial arts. The saying "one minute on stage takes ten years of practice" was fully embodied. Even when an actor's headdress fell off during a side flip, they handled it with composure.
The subtle tremors in the actors' hands and the pauses in their voices precisely matched the emotional state of their characters.
The martial arts movements (flips, dives, falls, rolls) were clean and sharp, combining entertainment value with character appropriateness.
The only regret is that there are too few tourists coming to see the opera. I don't know if the promotion is not enough, but it feels like a pity. It should be vigorously promoted to allow more foreigners to understand the traditional Minnan opera (today it was Taiwanese opera) or other types of opera.
Today I heard from the staff that a new play will be shown next month. Actually, I would really like to see Peking Opera 😄

If you are with a child, I highly recommend it. Even if you don't understand Chinese, there are Korean subtitles on the left, and you don't have to sit on the left to watch the subtitles. For the child, the time to watch the subtitles in the first row is less than 10 minutes, so you can completely lose yourself in watching the opera. Both the child and the adult are really satisfied!!!! Taipei Opera, which my child said he wanted to see again when he comes to Taiwan!!! The staff are very kind, and everything about the experience and the sights is perfect without any omission.

Amazing show! The performancd was excellent. There were also options at the lobby to dress up in traditional costumes for picture-taking. After the show, you could also have pictures with some of the performers. Will watch again.
