Mangrove or Fireflies Tour in Bintan

Our group was one of the early groups to go onto the trip for the night. There were 3 stops to see the fireflies. The boat guide was very experienced and spoke good English, occasionally sprouting some Chinese. Learnt a lot about mangrove trees and fireflies during the tour!

I booked the 11am mangrove tour pickup, but due to the weather, they contacted me to ask if it was okay to delay. I agreed to move it to 4pm and requested a message 30 minutes before arrival so I could prepare. Unfortunately, no message came through, and my whole day was affected. If I had known earlier whether the tour would proceed or be cancelled, I could have arranged my day better. When I finally decided not to wait anymore and walked out for dinner, that was when the driver arrived and asked if I was joining the tour. I wasn’t even ready and only had my purse with me. Since it had been raining earlier, the weather wasn’t ideal, and we didn’t get to see any wildlife during the tour. I understand that nature is unpredictable — sometimes it’s simply not our luck. If the weather conditions are not suitable, perhaps rescheduling or cancelling the tour would be better, so guests — especially those travelling from far away — can still have a good experience.

We left the hotel at 6:30 PM and arrived at the mangrove forest in about 15 minutes. There, we waited briefly with other tourists before boarding the boat. I was surprised at how fast the boat was, but it felt great to be in the night breeze. We proceeded through the mangroves, searching for fireflies along the way, until we arrived at a spot with a large concentration of them, where we were able to view many fireflies. Also, the starry sky viewed from the boat was incredibly beautiful and moving! I would definitely join this tour again.

Amazing experience. The tour was smooth and has a nice peaceful night sky as a plus. Tour guide and captain will catch fireflies and place them on your hands, allowing you to have an upclose experience with the fireflies.

Our guide was so funny and knowledgeable. It was a cloudless night where we could see the stars and the moon perfectly. The fireflies were easy to see, and the entire experience was safe and freeing. What an amazing time!

We joined the 8:00 PM slot. Cruising through the darkness on a motorboat while the North Star and Orion shone bright and large above us was a truly magical experience. Our guide had incredible night vision. He would slow down the boat whenever he spotted something and point out fireflies for us. At times, he even caught them gently with his hands and passed them to us to see up close. It was an unforgettable night!

Booking is easy to redeem. Very happy with it. It saved alot compare to get it from the counter. Overall, very happy. Thank you.
