This is my second time in Nagano, and to make the trip easier (avoiding the hassle of transfers), I signed up for a tour again. The itinerary included a visit to Zenko-ji Temple, sake tasting, lunch, and a close-up view of the snow monkeys. The weather was excellent that day, which made the whole trip even smoother.
The tour guide, Kevin, provided very clear explanations at each attraction, whether it was the historical background of Zenko-ji Temple or Japanese religious culture. He presented it in a coherent and vivid way. Although he is a foreigner, he can approach things from a different angle, understanding the natural evolution of social culture, which makes it easier for people to connect with.
The itinerary also included appropriate free time. Watching the snow monkeys up close was very interesting, and the staff at the sake brewery were very friendly. The lunch was good; the tempura and sushi were delicious. The portion size may have been a little small for some male travelers, but there were snacks available for purchase along the way to replenish calories.
Kevin was very attentive to the members of the group throughout the trip. Although my native language is not English, and most of the group were English speakers, he paid attention to everyone's needs at each attraction. Especially on the walking section to the snow monkeys, he monitored the walking speed of each member, clearly reminding them of things to watch out for, and his command of safety made everyone feel at ease.
This trip left me with very fond memories and brought a lot of good energy. It was a travel experience worth cherishing.
