Miyakojima Jungle Mangrove SUP Tour

Experiencing SUP in the mangrove jungle in Miyakojima—an area not even shown on Google Maps—was absolutely one of the best experiences of our trip. As a family with no prior SUP experience, we were quite nervous at first, but Ken made everything incredibly easy and enjoyable from booking all the way through to the end of the experience. Ken gave clear, patient, and beginner-friendly instructions, and he took exceptional care of our children (a 5th grader and a 1st-year middle school student). Our younger child struggled with paddling at first, but Ken kindly connected him to his own paddleboard so he could fully enjoy the experience. It must have taken a lot of effort on his part, but he handled everything with amazing professionalism, energy, and kindness. He also took plenty of great photos for us, helping us capture unforgettable memories. We can’t recommend this experience enough—especially for beginners. If you are visiting Miyakojima, this is an absolute must-do. Thank you Ken!

I joined the mangrove SUP tour. It started at 5:00 PM during sunset, so the timing was just wonderful! Our guide, Ken, took great photos and helped us out, making it a truly satisfying experience. Thank you so much, Ken!

Even though it was cloudy and a bit windy today, the overall experience was still fantastic! There was absolutely no problem doing SUP with a three-year-old. The coach prioritized safety, which made us feel very secure throughout the activity 🩷 Highly recommend for families with young children!

I received an email requesting a change to my initial reservation date and time due to weather conditions. We rescheduled for the next day and went for the mangrove SUP experience. The staff member in charge was incredibly kind and attentive, doing their best to ensure my family had a wonderful time. It's not easy to find English-speaking guides proficient in English while traveling in Japan, so I was surprised by how excellent their English pronunciation was. Since it was my first time trying canoeing, I wasn't used to paddling, and the canoe didn't always go in the direction I wanted. However, each time, they patiently re-explained things, and I gradually got the hang of it. I was also very touched that they took extra beautiful photos at the photo spots. The calm and safe location, where even beginners wouldn't drift away if they lost their direction, was great. But most memorable of all was the time I spent lying on the boat, looking up at the sky. It was a truly healing experience, surrounded by nature. If I visit Miyakojima again, this is an experience I would definitely want to do again.
