What to expect
Welcome to Kyoto, an ancient capital steeped in history and culture! 🏯 This day trip will take you to Kyoto's World Heritage Sites, sample authentic cuisine, admire natural beauty, and experience the unique charm of popular Instagrammable spots. 🍜🌸
First, we will visit Kinkaku-ji (Rokuon-ji Temple). Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion, is famous for its dazzling golden Shariden hall and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. 🏰 Bathed in sunlight, the Shariden hall resembles a golden palace, sparkling and leaving visitors in awe. ✨
Next, we will head to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and sample local snacks. Kiyomizu-dera Temple is one of Japan’s oldest wooden structures, built in 778, and is also a World Heritage Site. 🌸🍁 Whether it’s the cherry blossoms in spring or the autumn foliage, countless tourists are drawn here to admire the scenery. You can ascend the Kiyomizu Stage, overlook the cityscape of Kyoto, and feel the charm of the ancient capital. 🏞️
While visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple, you will also stroll through Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, traditional shopping streets filled with Kyoto's old-fashioned charm. 🛍️ Here, you can purchase traditional crafts and souvenirs, and also taste various local snacks, such as matcha ice cream from MASUDA tea shop and % Arabica coffee, satisfying your taste buds. 🍦☕
Then, we will head to the newly popular Instagrammable spot, Yasaka Koshindo. This place has quickly become popular due to its unique colorful ball decorations and strong religious atmosphere. 🌈 Many tourists come here not only to worship and pray for blessings but also to take a photo with the colorful balls, sharing this beauty and blessing from Kyoto with more people. 📸🙏
Finally, we will embark on a trip to Uji. Uji is famous for the beautiful Uji River and its rich matcha culture. 🍵 You can admire the serene scenery of the Uji River and also visit the World Heritage Site, Byodo-in Temple. Byodo-in Temple is a representative garden of the Heian period, famous for its exquisite Phoenix Hall. 🏯 The Phoenix Hall is not only a national treasure-level building but also appears on the back of the 10-yen coin. You can admire the exquisite craftsmanship and unique charm of this building up close. 🏞️
In Uji Matcha Street, you can taste various matcha sweets and drinks, such as matcha ice cream, matcha cake, matcha latte, etc., experiencing Kyoto's unique matcha culture. 🍰🍦 This will be an unforgettable day trip, allowing you to fully experience the charm and beauty of Kyoto. 💕

totally enjoyed this experience! love matcha so there’s no way I wouldn’t love the experience first hand with my favorite tea. Our tour guide Jun is amazing, he made sure to not get everyone bored with his jokes and singing. Just off from my bucket list.
Highly recommended. It was a bit crowded because there were many school students visiting at the same time, but overall it was a very nice experience. Uji is a mouth of fresh air after visiting Nanenzaka. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Kyoto is beautiful when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Our tour leader, John, led the group with great care and dedication. In addition to looking after everyone attentively, he also gave detailed introductions to the local history, recommended great photo spots for check-ins, and even gave small gifts to the guests. His work attitude was serious and sincere, never perfunctory, and he truly deserves praise.
Jun and his partner, our driver, were both amazing! Jun constantly updated the group chat, gave clear instructions for pick-up and drop-off, and shared interesting history about the places in our itinerary. What I really appreciated most was their patience. Some people in our group were late, and since parking at tourist spots in Kyoto is very strict, the bus had to leave the parking area on time. Even then, Jun went out of his way to locate the late guests and assist them back to the bus. Their patience and effort really deserve to be commended.
jun was the guide of the day. he was on time and always updating in the group link chat. explained well despite himself having abit problem with his english communication however we understood clearly. he gave ample time for the sight seeing.
thank you its nice and very helful
The tour details added a great service aspect, and Ms. Cicy provided excellent service. She was fluent in both English and Chinese during her explanations, which made everyone in the group feel very comfortable and happy. I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
The itinerary was very well planned, and the tour guide was engaging and enthusiastic (even though their singing wasn't great, it showed effort). Helping with photos was a big plus! It would be helpful if Klook staff had a more visible sign during check-in, making them easier to find.
As a representative of 13 people, talking to Amanda was great! She accomodates all of us well. Given limited time, we enjoyed and appreciated Gion and Uji's heritage 🫶 kudos to this tour! 👏👏👏
Jun was nice and explained everything well. Our guide also helped to take photos. Most of the tour is self guided so you manage your own time.
