The lantern lighting trip was great, the snow scenery was superb, and the Chinese-speaking tour guide enthusiastically suggested bringing your own cleat shoe covers. I saw too many people slipping and falling.

A very worthwhile trip 👍 In addition to Gassho Village, this lighting trip also includes a guided tour of Takayama Old Street. Overall, the CP value is sufficient. You can reach Takayama Old Street and Gassho Village without driving or taking public transportation. The only fly in the ointment is that the tour guide seemed to have misremembered the final closing time of the observatory before the gassho village lighting event (the tour guide said the closing time was 15:00 but it was actually 15:45, and the arrival time that day was about 14:30), so he missed it Opportunity to go up to the observatory during the day

Deng Yang has been a good driver and guide. Do note that when you select English does not mean you will get an English guide. This is one draw back. Shirakawago is nothing much and the waiting time is a little too much for the light up and nothing much to be amazed out. This is just once in a life time and will not enticed you to recommend the attraction to others.

the meeting place was a bit out of the way, with no accessibility to toilet. this was inconvenient because the coach journey was long. the guide was good though - sharing practical tips on how to make the best of each excursion to make the most of the time there.

There is someone to pick you up in Shirakawa-go, which is very safe in the snowy season. There is plenty of time to stay in Takayama Old Street and Gassho Village on the same day. This itinerary is highly recommended!

I only received the itinerary and contact information the afternoon before departure. When purchasing a trip, you must provide your line ID and contact information. The actual contact information given to the tour guide is WeChat. We booked a small tour group, but when we checked in on the day, we found out that we had been merged into a large group. Only after we protested on the spot did the operator arrange another vehicle for our departure.

The tour guide's explanations were not very good. There were many "ah" and "scare" sounds that made people feel uncomfortable. Moreover, the itinerary also required people to wait for more than an hour at the small shop on the observation deck. The place was very small and there was nothing to buy and no place for people to rest. The place doesn’t allow people to get back on the bus to rest, and it’s already dark when entering Shirakawa Village. It’s too dark to see anything. It’s not recommended to participate in this tour.

The email that was supposed to be sent before departure was not sent, and all the contact information on Klook was useless. I arrived at the scene 15 minutes early but still couldn't find the tour guide. The tour guide and driver only showed up at the last 3 minutes, and kept emphasizing that he was late along the way, and then the car left. This is the first time I see a tour group that wants to leave without any passengers.
