Fantastic 5.0
Very good experience on the tasman island cruise. Guides are friendly and nice. They provide a waterproof big coat to wear while on the cruise. Generally, no water splash on us. The "driver" has very good skills. Cruise not bumpy but very windy and cold wind blowing in your face. Can see alot of seals and nice view of Candlestick and other amazing views of the Tasman island area. Lucky enough to see dolphins and so near our boat.

Mark is our driver and tour guide. He is a talkative and responsible person. He drives us to find the white kangaroo! It is really unforgettable for me! I really enjoy this trip! I also have chance to try Tasmamia’s oyster, chocolate, honey!

A 4-hour walking exploration in the wilderness, where we saw wildlife. The guide was very professional and explained everything carefully, reminding us in advance to prepare lunch. We sat on the beach to enjoy the scenery, then went to Painted Cliffs. Everything was a work of natural art.

The Tasman Island Cruises Full Day Tour from Hobart was easily one of the highlights of my Tasmania trip. Our guide was incredibly friendly, helpful, and informative, making the whole day enjoyable from start to finish. The cruise was amazing—we saw stunning waterfalls, a historic lighthouse, playful seals, and even whales! The boat ride was exciting while still feeling very safe and well-organized. Other highlights included a lovely morning tea, delicious fish and chips for lunch (included), chocolate hazelnut ice cream (extra cost) at the Tasmanian Chocolate Foundry, and visits to the beautiful Safety Cove State Reserve and Remarkable Cave. Every activity was worth it, and I left with wonderful memories and a deeper appreciation for Tasmania's natural beauty. Highly recommended!

Worth every penny!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This Bruny Island tour was honestly one of the highlights of our Tasmania trip! It’s PERFECT for anyone who doesn’t have a car (or simply doesn’t want to drive around all day 😂) but still wants to experience all the must-do highlights of Bruny Island. The whole day was so well organised, and the 3-hour wilderness cruise was AMAZING — beautiful scenery, fresh air, and we even got to see dolphins!! 🐬🥹 Another huge highlight was the food. The meals included were absolutely delicious, with very generous portions and the most beautiful views while eating. We were genuinely impressed by how much was included in the tour. And a special shoutout to Kieran and Audrey, you guys were the BEST!! 🫶🏻 So friendly, helpful and welcoming, and you made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly, highly recommended!!! 💗🐬✨

What to know before visiting Hobart

What to expect from Hobart’s top experiences

Hobart’s visitors most often book Tours and Cruises, with Zoos & aquariums and Museums also appearing in the mix; bookings build through the year and peak in August, while February is noticeably quieter. Tours dominate across the year, cruises show the biggest range in price and choice, and museums offer the most budget-friendly entry points.

Best activities by traveller type

Families will find Zoos & aquariums and Museums very approachable — these categories tend to be lower-priced and family-friendly. Couples often favour Cruises and Tours for scenic, shared experiences and the mid-to-premium options those categories offer. Solo travellers and small groups can look to Tours for flexible day-trip choices, with Cruises providing higher-end or special-occasion options when they want something more premium.

What travellers from Malaysia should book ahead

Most travellers here plan around two weeks in advance on average, though the earliest planners tend to book roughly a month ahead — booking well before the August peak helps secure the best options. For flexible itineraries you can often pick things up a few days out, but during August it’s worth locking in popular tours and cruises earlier.

Comparing categories: price and who they suit

Museums are the easiest, most budget-friendly way into Hobart’s attractions, ideal for cost-conscious visitors and families. Tours sit in the mid-range and suit a broad cross-section of travellers seeking guided local experiences. Cruises show the widest spread of prices and options, ranging from mid-range to premium and suiting couples or travellers after a scenic, higher-end outing. Outdoor & sports activities sit at the premium end and appeal to visitors looking for an active, specialty experience.
