Things to do in Shezi Island

This past Tuesday (March 26th) at 10 AM, my spouse and I experienced the National Palace Museum's Korean docent-guided tour, 'Gogung Museum Day Tour,' which we booked through Klook. It was truly one of the most enjoyable and informative experiences of our lives. The guide from 'Chakan Tour' (I believe that was the name?) who led our session was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in such an easy-to-understand way, extending the scheduled two-hour tour significantly. We are so grateful. Although my husband and I had to leave about five minutes early to attend the Shifen Sky Lantern Festival, the impression the tour left on us lingered for a long time. It was wonderful to hear explanations of Chinese history and the history of Korea's Gojoseon, as the guide's knowledge was far deeper than that of other guides. The way they connected the explanations to the museum artifacts made everything incredibly clear and easy to grasp. It was a truly beneficial experience. I apologize for not catching the guide's name clearly before the tour started, so I can't include it in this review. Nevertheless, we were so thankful that our first day tour in Taiwan began so wonderfully, thanks to that guide. Above all, we were deeply moved by their passionate and continuous explanations for over two hours. If anyone I know plans to visit the National Palace Museum in Taiwan, I would enthusiastically recommend this guide. It was truly the best docent tour of my life.

This was our second trip to Taiwan. We didn't get to visit a hot spring on our first trip, but this time, our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the Beitou outdoor hot springs. The outdoor bath at Spring City Hotel offered great value for money. We got off at Xinbeitou Station and walked up to Thermal Valley, enjoying the library and hot spring museum along the way. Finally, we put on our swimsuits and enjoyed the outdoor hot spring at Spring City Resort, then took the downhill shuttle to Beitou Station this time. The itinerary was excellent! Highly recommended for its great value! If you have the time, you should definitely go.

It was a wonderful retreat to relax and destress. Soaking in hot sulfur water was just what we needed.

Despite the museum being extremely crowded with visitors, it was very helpful that you condensed the explanation of the museum artifacts into a short 2-hour tour. I especially appreciated that you came prepared with many photos on your tablet, including X-ray tomography and artifacts not present in the museum.

You get extra stickers compared to buying on-site, but you need to enter the park first (show your voucher at the manual gate to prove you're a visitor for the day), then go to the redemption counter in the building on the left front to exchange it.

Definitely a cool experience to try if you need a break from the typical shopping / food market trips. It was well worth the money because aside from the box of pineapple cakes that you’re gonna bake, you also get a cup of tea, some other pastries, and a NTD 50 voucher for their bakeshop downstairs. Staff and instructors were multi-lingual and attentive as well. It was also fun conversing with the other participants.

Went on Tuesday late morning and the whole place was not packed with people. Room was well maintained and clean. Enjoyed the dip and view from room.
