Things to do in Hokkaido

I'm glad I took this trip instead of DIY. I could imagine the hassle of doing public transport while snowing. Our guide, Tenzo, offered advices so we can maximize our time in each location, which really helped. The penguin walk at the zoo was so cute and adorable. Bus ride was also smooth, thanks to our driver (sorry, forgot his name). I'd recommend this trip if you want to explore a lot of popular areas in one day!

My Tour Guide was Mandy, she was very friendly and helpful, she speaks fluent English and Mandarin! She offered everyone to take their pictures (she’s very good at taking pictures!!! always say yes!!) Definitely recommend taking a Tour with her. I went on the Tour with the destinations Asahiyama Zoo, White beard waterfall, Ningle Terrace. The Ningle Terrace got canceled and replaced with the Blue Pond, due to weather conditions and limited Bus spots. This can happen any day unexpectedly, the Blue Pond was still nice but since it’s currently winter it was covered with snow and no blue was seen. Overall, happy with the Tour and definitely money worth!! My favorite was the Waterfall and the Penguin Walk at the Zoo!

Our guide Oliver from PST had been helpful and friendly, as usual day tour is very rush as it cover few places, Asahiyama Zoo and Shikisa no Oka were both fun, it will be good to brought own food, as Asahiyama zoo food court are always crowded. Ningle Terrance, we were given 40 minutes, walk from and to car park for bus already took 20 minutes as the ground was slippery, suuper long queue toilet 15 minutes, there was no time to go inside the jungle for the wooden cottages. Our guide was very understanding and willing to wait for those came back late. Christmas Tree was nothing much, stand in the freezing cold wind to see a tree, bus couldn’t park, we got to wait in the freezing wind for our bus to come back 🥶

The tour is just amazing, if the weather is clear and sunny, then the view from Mt. Toya is better than in an city viewpoint. Everybody should experience it once! Thanks a lot also to our tour guide Hanson, explained everything in perfect English, Chinese and Japanese.

the view up the observatory is amazing. with the weather so nice you could see the would city and maintains around it. nice cafe up there also which serves great parfaits and coffee. we love the vibe and even wrote wishes and hang them up. Claiming tickets was a breeze. very affordable and good value for the experience.

Amenities: Provides telescopes, life jackets, and English guidance for international visitors. During the tour, you'll see the unique landscapes of Shiretoko created by volcanoes, marine erosion, and glacial erosion. You can also see the Shiretoko Mountain Range from different angles. The boat will stop at locations where brown bears frequently appear, allowing everyone to use binoculars to spot them. In addition, you'll also have the opportunity to see whales and dolphins.

we were there last Dec13 evening, the view is amazing but much better on sunset. there’s a free shuttle bus going to the main building. go straight to 4th floor to exchange your voucher to physical tickets. we’ve purchased the RT

Since it was a weekday, the waiting time was short. At first, there was fog, so I was worried I wouldn't see one of Hokkaido's three major night views, but the weather cleared up later, so I enjoyed it.

This was such a great trip. We really enjoyed it, the itinerary was well-planned, and we had enough time to explore each place. Andy, our tour guide, was really helpful and even gave recommendations that we followed and loved. Because of that, everyone on the tour was cooperative and no one acted out, since we never felt rushed for time.
