Fantastic 5.0
Visiting the archaeological site of Tulum, Cobá, and finishing with the indoor cenote where we could swim in the cave was incredible. It's truly an experience not to be missed. I also want to thank Kevin, our guide, who was super kind and very funny. I really enjoyed spending the day with him and the group. Thanks also to our driver José, who transported us all day. 💙🇲🇽

Fantastic 5.0
what a great half-day activity! It was fun and adventurous. We were concerned that everyone would be expert swimmers, but they were not, which made it even better because we didn’t feel out of place, we saw some turtles and stingrays granted they were baby stingrays lol and some cool fish. there was a rope to guide you. but honestly, my favorite part was the going to the Sante underground cause I had been totes before that were open, but this one was closed meaning you’re in a cave which was so cool, and I really enjoyed swimming through the cave and also we did see some bats, but there was like one or two at most and they were mostly tucked away not wanting to bother us and the water was so clear. I was surprised of how clear the water was and it was really refreshing. The guide and the driver and the photographer all did a great job working together. at the end, we had delicious empanadas with an amazing habanero sauce with a nice kick to it. a lot of fun overall and great value!

Great 4.0
There was an issue with the Klook listing. It stated that a buffet lunch was included, but after I booked the tickets, the details showed that the buffet lunch was not included in the price. In the end, we had to pay extra for the buffet lunch on the day of the tour, but the food provided was absolutely not worth the price the restaurant charged. It was very disappointing. The tour guide had a very strong English accent. My husband, who has lived in the United States for nearly 30 years, could only understand about half of what he said. We often couldn't tell if he was speaking English or Spanish, though we could definitely feel the guide's dedication. We departed from downtown Cancun, and it was a truly packed itinerary. We had to be at the meeting point at 4:45 AM and didn't return until around 8:30 PM. It was an exhausting day. Because Chichen Itza was unexpectedly closed that day, the guide took us to Ek Balam instead. We didn't realize we were running out of water and ended up suffering from heatstroke after about half an hour without rehydrating. The weather that day was incredibly hot, which meant we didn't have the energy to properly explore Ek Balam. All we wanted was to get back to the entrance as quickly as possible to buy water. The planning by the staff at Ek Balam wasn't great; many ruins didn't have English explanations, and there was no place to buy water inside the site, only at the entrance and the parking lot. We hadn't planned on actually swimming in the Chichikan cenote, but we were surprised that the staff even required us to pay for a life vest and locker just to dip our feet in the water. Otherwise, we weren't allowed to enter at all and could only view the cenote from the observation deck. Since the water quality inside wasn't very clean, we decided not to go in after all.

What to know before visiting Tulum

Quick snapshot of Tulum’s travel rhythm

Tulum’s Klook bookings are led by tours, historical-site visits and water activities, giving the destination a mix of beach experiences and cultural excursions across the year. Demand peaks in January and falls to a low in September, so the town alternates between busy festival-and-sun months and much quieter stretches.

Best times to visit and how prices move

Klook data show January as the busiest month and September as the quietest. Prices, however, don’t track demand exactly: the priciest month on Klook was July while the cheapest month typically appears in May. If you want lower prices and smaller crowds, May through September generally suit that goal; if you’re after the peak-season atmosphere and the liveliest scene, aim for January or the northern-hemisphere summer months. In short, demand spikes in winter while prices peak in mid-summer, so low-crowd months can be found outside those two highs.

Tips for travellers from Malaysia

Travellers from Malaysia typically book around nine days ahead, with some still making last-minute plans a day out — so you can be flexible but it helps to plan about a week in advance. For peak months named above, consider securing popular tours and water activities earlier; for quieter months you’ll often find easier availability and lower prices on Klook.
