Fantastic 5.0
It was a spectacular tour. Mr. Carlos Moo was an excellent guide; he taught us a lot about Mayan culture and was super attentive to everyone. He speaks many languages!

Fantastic 5.0
Our guide Rodrigo was well informed and enthusiastic. Jose is a really good driver. Swimming and exploring the cave after walking down the ruins was refreshing. I am not a very good swimmer so the cave guide dragged me, very helpful. The buffet food was also great. This is a highly recommended tour. And make sure to avail the hotel pick up if you are just 2 people. Taxi is expensive.

Fantastic 5.0
what a great half-day activity! It was fun and adventurous. We were concerned that everyone would be expert swimmers, but they were not, which made it even better because we didn’t feel out of place, we saw some turtles and stingrays granted they were baby stingrays lol and some cool fish. there was a rope to guide you. but honestly, my favorite part was the going to the Sante underground cause I had been totes before that were open, but this one was closed meaning you’re in a cave which was so cool, and I really enjoyed swimming through the cave and also we did see some bats, but there was like one or two at most and they were mostly tucked away not wanting to bother us and the water was so clear. I was surprised of how clear the water was and it was really refreshing. The guide and the driver and the photographer all did a great job working together. at the end, we had delicious empanadas with an amazing habanero sauce with a nice kick to it. a lot of fun overall and great value!

Great 4.0
There was an issue with the Klook listing. It stated that a buffet lunch was included, but after I booked the tickets, the details showed that the buffet lunch was not included in the price. In the end, we had to pay extra for the buffet lunch on the day of the tour, but the food provided was absolutely not worth the price the restaurant charged. It was very disappointing. The tour guide had a very strong English accent. My husband, who has lived in the United States for nearly 30 years, could only understand about half of what he said. We often couldn't tell if he was speaking English or Spanish, though we could definitely feel the guide's dedication. We departed from downtown Cancun, and it was a truly packed itinerary. We had to be at the meeting point at 4:45 AM and didn't return until around 8:30 PM. It was an exhausting day. Because Chichen Itza was unexpectedly closed that day, the guide took us to Ek Balam instead. We didn't realize we were running out of water and ended up suffering from heatstroke after about half an hour without rehydrating. The weather that day was incredibly hot, which meant we didn't have the energy to properly explore Ek Balam. All we wanted was to get back to the entrance as quickly as possible to buy water. The planning by the staff at Ek Balam wasn't great; many ruins didn't have English explanations, and there was no place to buy water inside the site, only at the entrance and the parking lot. We hadn't planned on actually swimming in the Chichikan cenote, but we were surprised that the staff even required us to pay for a life vest and locker just to dip our feet in the water. Otherwise, we weren't allowed to enter at all and could only view the cenote from the observation deck. Since the water quality inside wasn't very clean, we decided not to go in after all.

What to know before visiting Tulum

Quick overview of Tulum’s travel rhythm

Tulum is a beach and culture destination where tours, historical sites and water activities lead bookings. Demand peaks in January and again in November, while late summer into September sees the slowest booking activity, giving the year a clear high- and low-season rhythm.

When to visit for crowds and prices

According to Klook booking data, January is the busiest month and September typically has the lightest demand. Prices, however, peak in July and drift down through autumn into spring: Klook data shows July as the priciest month and May as typically the cheapest. For lower prices and smaller crowds, aim for May or September; for peak-season atmosphere choose January or the November high-demand period. Note that demand and price don’t move exactly together here — the busiest month (January) is not the single priciest month (July), so you can find lively crowds without the very highest prices.

Tips for travellers from the Philippines

Most travellers from the Philippines tend to book around nine days ahead, with a substantial share booking up to about a month in advance, so plan sooner if you’re travelling in January or July. Many experiences in Tulum — tours and water activities — can be arranged on Klook within a flexible window, but locking in popular tour dates earlier will give you more choice in peak months.
