Things to do in Asahikawa

We joined a one-day tour with our guide, Emma. She was full of humor, and since there were Japanese, Chinese, and Filipino speakers on the bus, she patiently repeated everything three times. I've included a photo of Emma walking in the snow from behind. Biei Farm was the most enjoyable stop; we rode snowmobiles. I highly recommend getting one per person for a better experience, but the person in front of me was too slow this time, so I didn't get to experience the thrill of speeding up. You absolutely must try the milk and ice cream at Biei; they were delicious! However, be aware that ice cream is not allowed on the bus, and if your tour includes a meal, you might not have enough time to finish your ice cream. The only downside of the one-day tour was that we had to leave Asahiyama Zoo before seeing all the animals. The Ningle Terrace was wet and a bit dirty due to melting snow, and without the lights on, it wasn't very impressive. We should have spent more time at the zoo, haha. If it's not dark yet, you're not interested in creative crafts, and you haven't eaten properly all day, I suggest eating directly at the restaurants near Prince Snow Resort instead of going into Ningle Terrace, as the restaurants close at 3:30 PM.

The tourguide is very easy to speak with and has patience even though other people are not going back to the bus on time. I had a great tour. I would recommend this tour to explore the famous spots in Hokkaido.

Lin was my guide and his service was above and beyond! The tour was a great way for you to visit every location at the ease of navigating yourself with Lin providing sufficient information of the location. I enjoyed myself.

​Our day trip through Hokkaido was an absolute dream, made even better by our incredible guide, Jenny. She truly deserves a 10/10 rating—her respectful nature, witty sense of humor, and deep knowledge of the area kept us entertained and informed all day long. ​Asahiyama Zoo: The absolute star of the show was the penguin walk. Seeing them waddle up close was incredibly cute and a memory I’ll cherish! The polar bears, brown bears, and seals were equally adorable and active in the chilly weather. ​Biei’s Natural Beauty: The Christmas Tree stood alone in the snow, looking truly majestic against the white landscape. While the Blue Pond wasn't actually blue, the snowy vista was still serene. ​Shirahige Falls: This was the highlight of the scenery for me. The contrast of the blue water against the icicles was simply breathtaking. ​The itinerary was well-paced, and Jenny’s lively energy made the long drives feel short.

Very beautiful scenery. The tour leader, Rourou, was attentive and gentle, and helped fellow travelers with their needs. The vehicle drove very smoothly on the snow-covered roads. The penguins were very cute, and Shirahige Falls was also very beautiful. I really enjoyed this trip. If friends or family come to Hokkaido next time, I'll bring them on this tour!

Highly recommended, with a very helpful, funny, and hospitable tour guide. The bus and driver were nice. Overall, I was very satisfied with this tour, and the most memorable experience was when we played snowmobiling. Thank you.

We really enjoyed the tour! 😍 Everything was great, the itinerary, especially the penguin walk. The bus was comfortable, and of course our tour guide, Vivi, was amazing! We really loved this tour, although it’s a long drive going there but it’s all worth it. We loved seeing the live Penguins from Asahiyama Zoo, the Snowmobile experience was the best!!!! The lone Christmas Tree is sooo aesthetically nice and lastly the Nigle Terrace was beautiful especially at night. I wish we had more time. Thanks klook!

My daughter was so excited to see animals in the snow. We’ve never been to a zoo where the entire park was white with snow! it felt magical, It can be very slippery so being snow spikes with you. Unfortunately one of the attractions was closed so they extended our time for the snow mobiles. We visited the Christmas Tree last. My family love snow so this day was magical for us.
