    Rainforest World Music Festival 2023 in Kuching, Sarawak
    The iconic Rainforest World Music Festival is back, featuring a cast of world renowned performers never seen before in Sarawak. This annual 3-day music festival celebrates the diversity of world music in the vibrant city of Kuching in Sarawak, Malaysia. It'll be a weekend of music and culture, with daytime music workshops, cultural displays, craft displays, food stalls, and main-stage evening concerts.

    This year’s festival will be making its legendary return from 23rd to 25th June at Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching. Don't miss out this chance to listen to music from all around the world in one place - the festival’s line-up will feature a total of 199 musicians from 12 countries, across more than 3 continents to perform a diverse range of music genres.
    Performers include Grammy Awards winner, ‘Gipsy Kings’ featuring Tonino Baliardo from France, ‘Big Mountain’ from Jamaica/USA, ‘Safi Theatre’ from Tanzania, ‘Rastak’ from Iran, ‘Fasylive’ from Maldives, ‘Afriquoi’ from the United Kingdom, ‘Chatusram’ from India, ‘Rizal Hadi & Folk’ from Indonesia and ‘Ethno Thai Fusion Sound Band’ from Thailand. The line-up will also include performers from Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as many of our favourite local talents.

    All you need to know about Rainforest World Music Festival RWMF 2023
    The Rainforest World Music Festival (often abbreviated as RWMF) is an annual 3-day music festival celebrating the diversity of world music, held in Sarawak, Malaysia, with workshops, displays, food stalls and of course, concerts that feature a wide range of performances from traditional music, to world fusion and contemporary world music.
    The festival first started all the way back in 1998, and has since grown into an internationally recognised and award-winning music festival. It was even recognised as one of the Top 25 Best International Festivals, awarded by Songlines Magazine for six consecutive years.

    Musicians from twelve different countries will take turns performing across the three days, with Zee Avi headlining Day 1, Gipsy King featuring Tonino Baliardo for Day 2, and Big Mountain for Day 3. Check out this year's RWMF line-up here:

    How to get to Sarawak Cultural Village

    If you're wondering how to get to the Rainforest World Music Festival held at Sarawak Cultural Village, simply follow these steps:

    1. Travelling by car 🚗

    Sarawak Cultural Village is about a 40-minute drive from the Kuching International Airport and a 50-minute drive from the Kuching Bus Terminal. Situated near the coastline of Teluk Bandung, you can find it opposite the Damai Craftsworld & Event Centre. We recommend downloading the Waze or Google Maps app before your drive over, and search for "Sarawak Cultural Village".
    Free parking is available onsite. From as low as RM133 a day, you can also easily rent a car on Klook, with pick-up and drop-off available at Kuching International Airport.

    2. Travelling by shuttle van 🚌

    Yes, shuttle services are also available if you prefer not to drive! If you have tickets to RWMF, then you can hop on the free shuttle services from Kuching City at The Hills Plaza Merdeka. Return shuttle service is also available at Damai Central, which is just a 4-minute walk away. Check out the schedule here:

    If you're staying overnight at the Damai Beach Resort in Santubong, Sarawak Cultural Village is a 10-minute walk away, but a shuttle van service between the resort and the event venue is also available at a paid fee:
