Activity Introduction

"Isn't it the passing of time and the years that those poets and writers want to buy?"

Guoguang is a cultural expression of Taiwan's contemporary consciousness in the past thirty years. It integrates the world's cultural heritage with Taiwan's diverse local values to develop a unique Taiwanese cultural trend. All of its works are excellent operas.

The troupe has been on the road of innovation for 30 years, carrying the mission of inheriting skills and cultivating a new generation, and constantly creating imaginations for the future of Peking Opera. The literariness given to the newly compiled Peking Opera by Artistic Director Wang Anqi and the Guoguang Opera Company's commitment to combining it with contemporary theater art aesthetics have created Guoguang's unique Peking Opera vocabulary in technology and cross-border, and its pace has never stopped.

This exhibition "summons" characters from Guoguang's classic performances to return to the stage, viewing each character as a cultural carrier of contemporary consciousness. Through visual images combined with lyrics, dialogue and music, it weaves a sense of time and space where reality and illusion coexist. This is also the inspiration for the theme of "Flowers in the Mirror and Water Moon". It hopes to achieve theatrical illusions through the mutual reflection of reality and illusion, and to explore the interdependent relationship between theater and real life.

This exhibition attempts to create an immersive space where the soul whispers, questions itself, overlaps reality and illusion, and loses order in time and space, drawing out the inner secrets that even one cannot sort out, reflecting each other layer by layer, and gazing inward at the subtle human nature. Four major concepts will be experienced:

Visiting the Garden—A glimpse into a paradise of light and shadows that alternate between reality and illusion Enter the Soul - Enter the Soul and summon the thirty characters of Guoguang to perform again Encounter - Soul Dialogue Reflecting the Deepest Stories in the Heart through the Narrative in the Play Gaze - Look deep into the inner world and meet yourself again

Through multi-layered experiences, we open up a world where reality and fiction interweave, and enter the magic of the world of drama, presenting the layers behind or beyond reality. The light and shadow garden of mirrored flowers and water moons breaks through traditional boundaries and creates a multi-sensory experience that makes people linger, fully reflecting the innovation and inheritance of the National Theater Company in Peking Opera art.
