Things to do in Pompeii Ruins

This was one of the best tours I have been on and so comprehensive learning about what led up to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, and how it affected both Herculaneum and Pompeii. Our guide, Fredo, was excellent. He answered all of our questions and was so knowledgeable about the area and how the eruption solidified these two towns in time. He was great at explaining the similarities and differences of both the towns back in 79 A.D. and the ruins/excavation/preservation of both sites to this day. Fredo also pointed out all of the best aspects of what is so significant about the ruins and highlighted the artistry of the architecture and art throughout the city in the various mosaic and frescoes. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in learning about the history of these two towns. Just make sure to bring water and things to cover up (sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, etc.) as the day we went was sunny and hot.

We truly enjoyed this full day excursion even if it was short as the travel time was lenghtly. Our guide on that day was great and made sure that we are together even if it was such a big group. People stick with the timeline so it was timely in transitioning to the next area.

Thanks to our tour guide Michela, Pompeii guide Lily, and the Vesuvius guide (apologies, I don't remember his name) for their thoughtful and comprehensive introductions. Michela kindly led us throughout the day, Lily's detailed knowledge of Pompeii was impressive, and the Vesuvius guide's understanding of the volcano clearly showed his passion for nature. I distinctly remember after leaving Pompeii, our guide Michela quoted a line from the Bible's Ecclesiastes: "There is nothing new under the sun." This allowed us to imagine the lives of people 2,000 years ago through the ancient ruins and mountainous terrain! Due to the system's 3MB photo upload limit, I couldn't provide many of my good photos. I hope the system can improve this aspect.

The dates we chose for our trip unfortunately coincided with a cycling event in Italy, which prevented us from visiting downtown Naples. We received a notification email three days before our trip, which also mentioned the option to change our dates. At the time, we thought we could still visit Pompeii, so we didn't reply. However, the staff member even called us specifically to follow up, and we are truly grateful for their diligence and responsibility. We initially thought everyone had received advance notice, but upon gathering on the day of the tour, we discovered that many participants who booked through other platforms had not been informed and only learned from the guide on the day of check-in that they couldn't go to Naples. We were really glad we booked our tour through Klook. Our Italian guide was very professional and passionate about the region, providing us with fluent English and Spanish commentary on the unique scenery, famous attractions, and historical stories along the way. They also offered many suggestions for visiting Pompeii to those who didn't participate in the group tour and provided practical information for our dessert time in modern Pompeii, which was very enriching! it was super worth it to book. we really had fun and we enjoyed the travel. especially the Pompeii the history was amazing the tour guide was amazing.

It was a fantastic trip! The vendor and customer service team promptly resolved any issues that arose. Our tour guide was also very attentive and thoughtful, ensuring we had enough time at each attraction. Thanks to the excellent organization, there were no delays. It was truly a wonderful journey!

This was more of a round-trip transfer from the port to Pompeii than an actual tour. The meeting point at the Naples port was difficult to find, and we had trouble locating our car. We eventually met up with the driver via WhatsApp. Once in the car, it was just our group of two and another group of two Chinese tourists. We drove for about 30 minutes to Pompeii, where we were given vouchers for our admission tickets and told the driver would pick us up at 1:00 PM. We were able to rent audio guides by showing our vouchers, but there was no Japanese option. The ruins were magnificent, preserved in a way that truly brings the past to life. However, be prepared for extensive walking with no shade, as the site is vast. For the return trip, we received an email stating the pickup would be at 1:30 PM, and a different driver and car arrived. Finally, at the Naples port, we were dropped off at a different cruise ship's location, and had to walk about 15 minutes to reach our own ship.

It was nice trip with Vincenzo. There were many walking but He always make us stay in shade. He was very kind, well know about our tour subject and fun. He said his Engnlish is poor but everyone in our group feels he is fluent English speaker.
