Things to do in Jiuzhai Valley National Park

I visited Jiuzhaigou in March, during the off-season, yet there were still many tourists. There was unmelted snow and frost on the ground, and the trees hadn't grown leaves yet, but this didn't detract from the beautiful scenery. It took about 95 minutes to travel by high-speed train from Chengdu East Station to Huanglong Jiuzhai Station, and then another 100 minutes by tourist bus from Huanglong Jiuzhai Station to the scenic area. I spent 6 hours sightseeing in the park. The highest point in the scenic area is 3,101 meters (about 10,174 feet) above sea level, and the temperature was around 5-6 degrees Celsius (41-43 degrees Fahrenheit) on that day, with occasional clear skies. There are sightseeing buses available between attractions to save time, as well as boardwalks for those who enjoy hiking. I experienced mild altitude sickness (headache and muscle fatigue) during my visit. The bus driver was very thoughtful and allowed extra time for the return journey, as there was a possibility of traffic jams due to slow driving in the evening if it snowed. I had originally purchased a high-speed train ticket for 8:40 PM (Songpan Station to Chengdu East Station, approximately 95 minutes). However, because traffic was smooth, when the bus arrived near Huanglong Jiuzhai Station around 6:20 PM, the driver suggested we could change our high-speed train ticket to an earlier departure (7:00 PM from Huanglong Jiuzhai Station to Chengdu East Station, approximately 150 minutes). We successfully made the change and returned to our hotel in Chengdu an hour earlier than expected to rest. Therefore, if you are simply visiting and are unsure if your body can adapt to altitude sickness, this half-day tour plan, spending a full day in the Jiuzhaigou scenic area, is indeed an excellent choice.

Was looking for a fuss free and worry free 2D1N tour to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong scenic area and picked this package on Klook. We were given clear instructions on when and where to meet, and were met at the Train station by our guide- 阿朵. She was energetic, really knowledgeable and friendly, her tips on which viewpoints to make time for and which are optional really helped make my experience great. We had sufficient time for all the stops, it did not feel rushed. For context, 我是来体验的，不是来打卡的。Both scenic areas were really gorgeous, do take the time to just admire. And as promised by our guide 阿朵，this tour had no forced shopping. Tip: take the cable car up to the Huanglong scenic area. it makes the visit much easier especially for older folks/people who are less mobile.

Our three-day trip to Jiubaogou and Huanglong was very enjoyable, and we especially thank our tour guide A Qiu and driver Master Ma for their hard work! A Qiu not only clearly explained the history and unique features of each scenic spot, but also actively promoted the successful implementation and achievements of the Party's ethnic policies, ecological civilization construction, and rural revitalization strategy in the Tibetan areas throughout the journey. The itinerary was well-planned, and the service was warm and thoughtful, making the entire trip relaxing and fulfilling. Master Ma's driving skills were excellent; he navigated the mountain roads smoothly and safely, and picked us up and dropped us off punctually. Their seamless teamwork made our trip worry-free and delightful. Highly recommended! We wish tour guide A Qiu and Master Ma continued success in their work, and good health and safety! Accommodation choice: Very comfortable and in a bustling area.

Travel dates: June 14-16. Today is the last day, and we've already started our journey back to Chengdu. Although the itinerary was a bit tight, the weather these past two days was truly excellent, making the effort worthwhile. Both the driver and the tour guide were great. Our guide was very lovely, providing excellent care and assistance. This was one of the most impressive and beautiful trips. This trip was very nice and amazing. Everywhere had incredible views.

I brought my parents here. Traveling by high-speed rail is much less strenuous for seniors! In the past, it took a whole day just to get to Jiuzhaigou, but now we can leave Chengdu in the morning and arrive at the scenic area by noon. At Huanglong Scenic Area, we took the ropeway up the mountain (80 yuan/person for the ascent) and then slowly walked down to see the Five-Color Ponds. Four hours was plenty of time for the visit. On the second day, the sightseeing bus in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area went directly to the core attractions, covering Shuzheng Valley, Rize Valley, and Zechawa Valley. We walked about seven to eight thousand steps daily, and my parents weren't tired. Jiuzhaigou in July is lush green, the waterfalls are spectacularly full, and the air is fresh with the scent of plants and streams. Staying two nights at a hotel at the gully entrance meant we didn't have to move our luggage, which was very convenient. My parents enjoyed the Tibetan dinner and even watched a Guozhuang dance. The tour guide didn't enter the scenic area with us, but they explained all the important tips for visiting beforehand, which made the trip quite hassle-free.

Awesome trip plan, highly recommend! Jiuzhaigou is every bit as beautiful as people say. The accommodation and transport were all good, no complaints at all.
