My friends and I booked a Tuscany tour, and our guide, Gabriel, was incredibly kind. He explained everything so well and took lots of great photos for us. Civita di Bagnoregio was also wonderful, and his extensive knowledge of wine was very helpful.

I went on a Vatican tour today, and 'moving' doesn't even begin to describe it. You'll truly understand why visiting the Vatican is a must when you come to Rome! Thanks to our guide's detailed explanations, I was able to go beyond simply looking at the artworks and truly feel the history and the intense struggles of the artists embedded within them. It was especially moving to see Michelangelo's 'The Creation of Adam' and 'The Last Judgment' in the Sistine Chapel. The moment I saw works I'd only read about in books with my own eyes, I understood why people call this place a sacred site. My feet were a bit sore, but it was a worthwhile experience beyond measure. For those planning a trip to Rome, I highly recommend the Vatican tour!

We used this tour for our honeymoon, traveling from Florence to Rome. I highly recommend it for anyone who finds the idea of dragging luggage around in the hot summer daunting, or for those who want to escape the city and enjoy scenic countryside views. Our guide, Cielo Kim, was incredibly passionate and made the bus journey engaging, even playing opera music from performances she had been in, which was a memorable touch. We took photos at scenic spots along the Cypress Road and in Bagnoregio, and enjoyed a wine tasting at a winery where we learned about the wines. Additionally, on the way to Rome, she provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and souvenir shops, which was a great help in wrapping up our trip. If you have a travel plan from Florence to Rome, I suggest dedicating a day to this tour.

It was a fantastic trip! The vendor and customer service team promptly resolved any issues that arose. Our tour guide was also very attentive and thoughtful, ensuring we had enough time at each attraction. Thanks to the excellent organization, there were no delays. It was truly a wonderful journey!

I was the only Korean, and when I travel, I prefer to hear explanations in English or the local language rather than Korean. It feels more exotic and gives a better sense of the place. Also, the guide was incredibly kind to me, even though I was the only Korean, so I had no problems enjoying the itinerary! It was a lot of fun!!!

Bought the Trenitalia pass on Klook and got my e-ticket instantly. Activation was super easy and the QR code worked at every station from Rome to Venice. Trains were punctual, clean, and comfortable. Having unlimited travel saved me so much vs buying single tickets and let me do spontaneous day trips. Klook’s customer support was also responsive when I had a question. Best way to explore Italy by train!

I initially had low expectations for the Tuscany tour, as I mistakenly thought it was a winery tour due to a date issue. However, the tour with <Guide Gabriel> was incredibly satisfying! If I had more time, I would have booked another tour right away. I signed up alone, but the guide diligently took photos like a professional photographer and was very accommodating with the schedule to ensure I made my train to Rome 🥲. I'm truly grateful and hope to see you again on another tour if the opportunity arises!

What to know about Borghese Gallery

The Borghese Gallery is one of the most important art museums in Rome, located inside the former Villa Borghese. It's home to the famous Borghese collection, which includes paintings and sculptures from masters like Caravaggio, Raphael, and Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Built in the 17th century, the museum was created by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, a major art collector and nephew of Pope Paul V. When you visit, you can explore rooms filled with Renaissance and Baroque art, admire the sculpture of David, or see the painting Sacred and Profane Love. Don't miss the archaeological collection that features ancient Roman antiquities. After your visit, take a walk through the surrounding gardens of Villa Borghese, one of the largest parks in Rome. The Galleria Borghese offers a more intimate experience with world-class art. If you're in Italy, this museum is a must-see for anyone who loves history, sculpture, and beautiful spaces.

What to See at the Borghese Gallery

Diana and Her Nymphs by Domenichino (Room XIV)

This dramatic painting shows Diana, the goddess of the hunt, with her nymphs punishing Actaeon by turning him into a stag. The myth comes to life through vivid color and movement.

Lady with Unicorn by Raphael (Room IX)

Painted around 1506, this work shows a woman gently holding a unicorn---a symbol of purity. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, it's one of Raphael's most mysterious portraits. No one knows who she is, and that makes the painting even more intriguing.

The Deposition by Raphael (Room IX)

This moving artwork shows Jesus being carried to his tomb. The details and facial expressions are full of grief and emotion. You'll see Raphael's talent in every part of the painting. It's one of the most powerful religious works in the Borghese Gallery.

David by Bernini (Room II)

Bernini's David is caught mid-action, just before throwing a stone. The expression on his face is full of focus and energy. You can almost feel the motion in the twist of his body. It's a standout moment in the Villa Borghese Pinciana.

Things to Do at the Borghese Gallery

Take a guided tour

Join a Galleria Borghese tour to dive deeper into the stories behind the paintings and sculptures. Guides explain key works by Caravaggio, Bernini, and Raphael. It's perfect if you're curious about art but don't want to read long signs. Some tours even include skip-the-line entry.

Walk through the gardens

After exploring the museum, walk through the beautiful Villa Borghese gardens. You'll find fountains, statues, and plenty of spots to relax. It's one of the most peaceful spots in the entire Borghese estate.

Visit the temporary exhibitions

The Borghese Gallery often hosts temporary exhibitions featuring international and Italian artists. These shows are held in special rooms inside the former Villa Borghese. If you enjoy modern art or themed exhibits, check the gallery schedule before your visit. Tickets may be separate, but they're worth it.

Popular Attractions Near the Borghese Gallery

Castel Sant'Angelo (20 minutes by taxi or 30 minutes on foot)

Once a fortress and now a museum, Castel Sant'Angelo offers a rooftop view of the Tiber River and St. Peter's Basilica. Inside, you'll find ancient weapons, frescoes, and a long history dating back to Emperor Hadrian. It's a great place to explore after the Galleria Borghese. You can walk there through scenic city paths.

Spanish Steps (15 minutes on foot)

Just a short walk from the villa, the Spanish Steps connect Piazza di Spagna to the Trinità dei Monti church. Sit on the steps and enjoy the view, or head down to shop on Via dei Condotti. This is one of Rome's most iconic photo spots. It's lively, elegant, and full of charm.

Trevi Fountain (20 minutes by foot or 10 by taxi)

Don't miss tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain for good luck. This famous landmark is a short ride from the Galleria Borghese. The fountain's sculptures and flowing water are stunning to see in person. It's always buzzing with energy and visitors from around the world.
