Tai O

We recently joined the Tai O Fishing Village sightseeing trip. We a bus from Tung Chung Bus Terminal to Tai O, which took about 30–45 minutes. Upon arrival, it was easy to locate the boarding pier, just look out for the signboard displaying Klook sign. We simply scanned the QR code before boarding the boat. The boat ride lasted around 20 minutes and offered a good view of the traditional fishing houses built on stilts, which are one of Tai O’s most iconic sights. The boat then ventured further out into the waters in search of the famous pink dolphins, but unfortunately, we were not able to spot any. After the boat tour, we spent a little time exploring the small village on foot. The village has some small local shops. We stopped at a shop to try the absolutely delicious cream puff (donut) and topped them with ice cream. Check it out if you are there!

Such a fantastic tour. The tour guide Jason was very helpful and guided us very well. I am so impressed. Definitely recommend.

We went on a very sunny day, the weather was great. We took the Crystal Cabin. There were more sights on the right side – the airport, the big bridge... (Actually, you can see them more clearly from an airplane; the cable car isn't high enough). But on the left side, you can eventually see the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. In the Crystal Cabin, it feels like you're standing on water and above the forest. I later realized that the Ngong Ping 360 advertisement features the panoramic cabin. I believe the panoramic cabin would give an even stronger 'person in the air' sensation. When we arrived, there were still decorations for the 20th anniversary, even though it had just ended. There's an Ngong Ping Bing Sutt (cafe) for photo opportunities. Inside the cabin, only the small windows open for ventilation, so it felt a bit stuffy. On the return trip, in a standard cabin, the sun hadn't set by 6:00 PM because it was summer, and clouds were covering the sun. I recommend allowing more time, 5 hours or more, if you want to visit the Big Buddha in addition to Po Lin Monastery. I didn't go up that day, not only because I didn't have enough time but also because it was too sunny; the weather only became overcast closer to 5 PM. I had been up before, so I didn't go again, but last time I took the bus only to the Big Buddha and didn't visit Po Lin Monastery.

The workshop was excellent, and the instructor was very accommodating. After we made tofu pudding, the instructor also provided materials to make peanut mochi afterward! The instructor was very accommodating regarding food allergies. One of the participants in the workshop had a nut allergy, and the instructor quickly separated the materials to minimize contamination and offered red bean filling for the mochi to the person with the allergy. The instructor also asked for our water bottles to fill them with the leftover soy milk that wasn't used for making the tofu pudding. The instructor does not speak English, but we understand Cantonese.

The cable car staff and guides were all very kind and made learning about and sightseeing Tai O Fishing Village and the Tian Tan Buddha enjoyable. I don't think I would have been able to visit Tai O Fishing Village on my own, nor would I have learned about its history. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning about Hong Kong's rich history. We took the cable car back after 4 PM, and it was very crowded, so you might want to consider a priority pass, such as the Crystal Cabin.

Great experience, 100% recommend when in Hong Kong. Passionate staff, who care about the dolphins. We managed to see so many. We also managed to get off in the fishing village, giving us more opportunities to explore Hong Kong.

If you don’t want to line up for tickets going to The Peak, this is definitely the best option for you. The staff assisted me right away where to enter and scan my QR code to enter and wait for the Tram going up and the same goes when you leave. I had a great time exploring The Peak and would definitely go back with my family or friends there!

What a great way to tour around the city! We had the best time sightseeing, appreciating, and learning the history of each stop. It was a great bonus to do this on such a fine day! Having been on this tour made it easier for us to explore — less stress and more convenient! We encourage anyone visiting to try this as well.

It was a very interesting experience. The instructor was kind and friendly, and even shared some history about Tai O. The environment was clean and hygienic. However, it might be better to try contacting the shop directly?
