Very easy to book and use. Need to get a physical ticket at the ticket counter on the 1st floor. I went on a weekday to 89th and 101th floor. Unfortunately the weather became cloudy and rainy around the evening time so the view was not that great, however managed get few photos whenever the clouds dispersed. The tuned mass damper on 88th floor was interesting. In my opinion going to 101th floor is not worth it. It is quite small and made like a fern garden. Also the windows are of half length. 89th floor will have much better views with full length glass walls.

The Botero exhibition was truly delightful! The exhibition was very well-curated, featuring many paintings and dedicated sections exploring the artist's creative themes, as well as interactive games (like uploading a photo to transform it into Botero's style 😆). I highly recommend watching the introductory video about the painter; it will give you a deeper understanding of his work. The souvenir area was also very refined. I bought a canvas bag (which came with an iron-on patch) and a frameless print of the Mona Lisa. I'm so happy! ☺️

Good place to spend a whole day. start from the top and work your way down. the collection is ordered from earliest period on the top floor, and later pieces on lower floors. public transport to get there is easy and cheaper then the sight seeing bus. there are so many pieces there you might want to come another day to see the rest. Do eat before coming here as there is only a small cafe that is constantly crowded. Besides their most popular pieces that people seem to like to view, you will find other pieces you will like I found the gate cups to be the ones I prefer over the popular pieces.

Such a beautiful experience and definitely one of the memorable parts of our trip! The Maokong Gondola ride was really enjoyable, especially with the amazing views of Taipei and the surrounding mountains along the way. The ride was comfortable and gave us a completely different view of the city. We especially loved visiting the Gaomei Wetlands. The scenery was incredible, with the wide-open wetlands, wind turbines, and beautiful views stretching into the distance. We happened to be there around sunset, which made everything look even more amazing. It’s a great place to slow down, take some photos, and enjoy the scenery away from the busy city. Definitely worth visiting!

I was on a solo tour, and the guide explained various things (in English and Taiwanese) and even made jokes, which made it a really fun tour. The guide was very passionate, and the time spent at each stop was just right. In the middle of the tour, there was an offer for bubble tea and ice cream. I tried the ice cream, but it had cilantro in it, so I threw half of it away. It was like an ice cream pie, and it did taste good. We took a bus to and from Jiufen, which cost 15 Taiwanese dollars. It was a satisfying tour. Thank you, guide! 😊 Thank you for taking a video with a camera instead of a phone when we released the sky lanterns! 👏🏻 1. Yehliu (Geopark. Buy your ticket in advance. You'll receive an email to buy it with your booking confirmation.) 2. Waterfall 3. Shifen (Sky lantern release. Additional cost.) 4. Jiufen (15.15 bus fare.)

It's very comfortable to see the exhibition on a rainy weekday; there are very few people, and most, like me, are there alone to appreciate the line art. The exhibition is divided into nine sections. The first section features character line art, with the largest area dedicated to Rei. ❤️ I spent the most time in this section, as every piece of line art is worth savoring (Rei & Kaworu). Next are the line art for the Angels and NERV, even including line art for piano-playing hand gestures! I think the overall exhibition layout is quite good, covering all bases with line art of the boys, girls, and Angels in various scenes, complemented by models and animation.

August 23, 2026 (Sunday) Two years ago, when we visited, it was a sunny day. Today, the weather was very cool, with a light drizzle. However, because of the rain, the roller coaster was temporarily closed, which was a shame because we didn't get to ride it. We rode the Jungle Roar Treehouse (free fall), the pirate ship, the spinning teacups, the Galaxy Express (monorail), the Ferris wheel, the Happy Bumper Cars, and the Space Gyro. It was truly worth the price of admission! My most memorable experience was riding the pirate ship; it was actually very comfortable, and my daughter and I rode it twice. My son was glued to the sandbox and spent an hour and a half there. 😅 We didn't leave until it got dark (6:30 PM), and it was hard to say goodbye.

Booking our tickets online right before entering Taipei Zoo turned out to be a great move, as paying in PHP was noticeably cheaper than purchasing directly in NTD at the gate. The zoo grounds are massive, beautifully maintained, and offer incredible value, but timing is everything when visiting. Arriving at 1:00 PM already put us on a tight schedule, and an unexpected two-hour rainstorm completely stalled our plans. Because of the weather delay and the sheer size of the park, we weren't able to explore the entire zoo, but we definitely plan to visit again on our next trip to Taipei. For anyone planning a visit, I strongly recommend buying your tickets online in advance for the best rate, arriving right when the park opens, and packing umbrellas so a sudden downpour won't cut your day short.

What to know before visiting Taipei

Taipei’s top things to do through the year

Taipei’s most-booked experiences are live Events & shows, followed by guided Tours, with wellness Massages, Observation decks and Museums rounding out the list. Demand rises toward December and dips in June, so the city’s lively events and evening shows peak at year-end while quieter months are better for museum visits and lower-pressure sightseeing.

Best activities by traveller type

Families will find Events & shows and Museums especially convenient — both suit mixed-age groups and offer easy pick‑up options. Couples often gravitate to Tours and Observation decks for shared, romantic views and curated local insight. Solo travellers and small groups tend to book Massages and budget-friendly Tours, plus solo-friendly Observation deck tickets for flexible sightseeing.

What travellers should book in advance

What travellers book ahead Most things in Taipei can be arranged a day or two out, since the typical booking window is short, but the earliest planners still reserve around two weeks ahead for popular dates. Booking ahead matters most in December, when demand is noticeably higher and top events and tours can fill up.

How the categories compare on price and fit

Museums are the easiest, lowest-entry option for budget-conscious visitors, while Massages sit at the premium end and also show the widest range of prices, so they can be either affordable or luxurious depending on the choice. Events & shows and Tours sit in the mid-range by price and are ideal for visitors wanting organised experiences or evening entertainment. Observation decks are a mid-to-entry option that suits travellers after quick, scenic city views without a big spend.
