    Outdoor Activities in Bangkok 🛺

Let’s get to know more about some outdoor activities in Bangkok, so you can choose which activities best suit your Bangkok itinerary!

    1. Experience the thrill of the Mahanakhon Skywalk

One of the best outdoor destinations in Bangkok has got to be the Mahanakhon Skywalk! The open terrace on the 75th floor is packed with sightseeing spots, the skywalk, and even a snack bar. From here, you’ll see beautiful city views, and you can even snack on sweet and savory pastries while doing so. There are many seats available, perfect for those who want to take a break from all the walking and standing. If you’re brave enough, take on the skywalk to see Bangkok right below you. The height is no joke, but trust us, the experience is one for the books! 🤩
Klook Tip: Visit the skywalk from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., just in time for the sunset!

    2. Sip on refreshing drinks at Zoom Sky Bar

Another fun outdoor experience in Bangkok is drinking and dining at Zoom Sky Bar! Here, the breeze and booze will take all your stress away. They have refreshing mixes like Young Coconut Delight and Apple Martini to help beat the Bangkok heat. But, if you want something non-alcoholic, we suggest getting their cold and fresh orange juice drink. 🍊The best part of the experience is the city views surrounding you during your stay at the Sky Bar. At sunset, you’ll see beautiful orange hues in the sky, while at night, you’ll be greeted by stunning city lights! 🌙
Klook Tip: People start flocking to the sky bar at around 7:00 pm (THA). Try to arrive before then to secure your seats!

    3. Shop ‘til you drop at the Amphawa Floating Market

You can’t really say you’ve been to Bangkok without going to at least one floating market! Amphawa Floating Market is one of the most famous floating markets in the city. It’s packed with souvenirs, trinkets, and authentic Thai snacks (even rice meals) for you to buy and try. You can get gifts for your friends and family from here like elephant pants, locally-made bags, locally-designed clothing, ref magnets, and dried fruits.

During our visit, we tried Thai coffee and chicken skewers, which were both so good! 😋
Klook Tip: Locals say that rain and light drizzles are frequent, so it's advisable to bring along a small umbrella, a raincoat, or a lightweight jacket!

    4. See iconic attractions aboard the Chao Phraya Princess Cruise

Next up on our list is the famous Chao Phraya Princess Dinner Cruise! This is the perfect outdoor activity if you’re looking to have a good meal while also exploring some iconic attractions in Bangkok. Aboard the cruise, you’ll get to see The Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Rama VIII Bridge, and more — just make sure to listen to the announcements on board so you won’t miss taking photos and videos with these attractions. 📸
Klook Tip: Bring a light jacket or cardigan because it can get breezy on board!
Different dishes lined up at a buffet
The food, of course, is another highlight of this experience. The cruise buffet offers a wide variety of dishes like Asian and Italian cuisines. Don’t miss out on the seafood — all fresh and savory! 🦐
Important Reminder: Make sure to register and redeem your ticket at the Chao Phraya Princess booth inside ICONSIAM (G Floor, Sook Siam Zone, next to Naraya Shop) by 6:30pm.

    5. Learn about Thailand’s history at Ancient City

Visiting the Ancient City has got to be one of the best outdoor activities to do in Bangkok. Inside the attraction are over 100 sacred monuments and temples for you to explore! We highly recommend dropping by Mondop Phra Chaturaphut, The Footprint of the Lord Buddha, Pavilion of the Enlightened, and Mondop of Bodhisattva Avalokitesavara (Kuan-Yin) first — these monuments have beautiful exteriors, sights you simply can’t miss!

If you don’t know where to go next, then refer to your handy pamphlet that you can get at the entrance! The pamphlet is also a map that you can use to plot out your desired route. They also offer audio guides if you want to learn a thing or two about each temple or monument as you go. The audio guides come in three languages — English, Chinese, and Korean. 💡
You’re probably thinking, “The place is so big, how will I get to see them all in a day?” Don’t worry, you can rent a buggy car during your visit. Going around in a buggy car will make the experience so much better — less walking under the sun and helps save time going from one place to another. 🤗
Klook Tip: If you have time to spare, visit Erawan Museum too, it’s nearby!

    6. See adorable animals at Safari World Bangkok

Here’s an attraction that’s worth all the walking — Safari World Bangkok! The safari is divided into two areas, the Safari Park and the Marine Park. At the Marine Park, you’ll see different types of fish and adorable manatees. At the Safari Park, you’ll see parrots, pelicans, raccoons, giraffes, tigers, and more. 🐅

Our favorite part of the park is probably the drive-thru safari where you get to see the animals up close while you’re inside the comfort of your vehicle. We enjoyed watching the lions sleep, giraffes walk around, and the hippos swim! It’s an unforgettable experience, so do go on that drive-thru safari during your visit! 🦁
Important Reminder: To avoid accidents, please DO NOT OPEN your car doors or windows while inside the Drive Thru Safari.

    7. Taste authentic Thai food at Jodd Fairs

Your Bangkok trip can’t be complete without a night market experience! We went to the famous Jodd Fairs night market, and trust us when we say that it’s a must-visit. The night market is packed with authentic Thai snacks and dishes like fruit shakes, mango sticky rice, deep-fried insects (if you’re up for it), meat skewers, and a lot more. 🤤 The best part? They don’t only have food here, they sell items like Thai clothing, locally-made bags, and ref magnets too — perfect as souvenirs or gifts to bring home to your loved ones. 💖

    8. Visit the outdoor area of ICONSIAM

    Man and woman walking
Even though ICONSIAM is a mall (which means indoors), we considered it a place to go to for outdoor activities since there is an outdoor area where locals and tourists alike can sit, relax, stroll around, and people-watch! 😌 During our Bangkok trip, we had the chance to just rest here after all the city exploration that we’ve done for the day. You can even bring some snacks if you like. The most fun part was probably the unexpected fountain show that happened right in front of the giant ‘ICONSIAM’ signage — we got drenched but hey, the show made it worth it! 😂
Now that you know what outdoor activities to do in Bangkok, you can finally book that flight and pack your bags! Enjoy Bangkok and have a safe trip! 🫡
