What To Expect

The historically strategic trading port of Hakata is still brimming with the merchant atmosphere of its past. At the Minoshima shopping street, be transported back to the Showa period where you will be able to experience the warmth and friendliness of local merchants who own family-run businesses. After you have indulged in traditional snacks and browsed local produce and trinkets, continue onwards to Yanagibashi market which is also known as 'Hakata's Kitchen'. This has been the main source of meat, fish, vegetables and other local produce for restaurants and residents of Fukuoka for over 100 years.
