What to expect
【Nara Park】 The ancient city of Nara is famous for its historic “Nara Giant Buddha” and its vast historical park, including Todaiji Temple, a world cultural heritage site. In the Nara region, deer are regarded as messengers of the gods and are also recognized as national treasures. There are currently about 1,200 wild deer living in Nara Park. They usually move around freely in the park. When they see tourists with deer senbei in their hands, they will even take the initiative to get close to them and act coquettishly. They are very popular with tourists from all over the world.
【Rokko Snow Park】 It has a gentle slope area that is most suitable for beginners, as well as a snow basin and a dedicated snow field for playing in the snow, making it safe and fun to play in the snow. Snow suits and ski equipment can be rented, so you can come empty-handed! For your first snow trip, come to Rokko Mountain Ski Resort!

Fun experience. The tour agency did email us the evening before the tour by providing us the meeting point photo, would be better if the address was included. It took me hard time to ask around to get to the meeting point. Thank goodness that we met some very helpful Japanese youngman to help find the place. And thanks to the tour guide for waiting for us. Feeding the deer was fun, but try to keep the deer biscuits in a bag and out of their sight so that the deers would search your body for food. Overall the trip was fun.
Both our kids were really looking forward to Mount Rokko Snow Park, and it didn't disappoint—especially for our 9-year-old. We wanted to try skiing, but the lessons fill up quickly (I believe there are only two slots a day). Instead, we spent our time sledding down the hill—the sled rentals were included in this tour, by the way—and building a snowman. Even with just those activities, the time flew by and the kids had loads of fun. We visited Nara Park afterward. Although it was our second time there, we got to explore a different part of the park than before, so it was a fresh experience for us. It was great seeing the shrines and feeding the deer again.
really great tour! it was really convenient :)our guide winnie was really accommodating and friendly. we had fun playing in the snow and feeding the deer! ❤️❤️it was a holiday when we went olso there were a lot of people in the snow park 😅(so take note of their holiday dates!) nevertheless it was fun going on the sled and playing in the snoooow❄️❄️
Our tour guide is really helpful, even though we are only group who are non-chinese, she still explains the tour in English. There are 2 bus group which i think why we went to the Rokko Snowpark first and spent 4hours while the other bus group went to Nara.
Great experience at Mount Rokko with the family. The guide was fantastic and patience in explaining the things need to take note while at the location.
Participating in the 1/15 trip, the departure was delayed in order to wait for two groups of guests. Some of the people traveling with us were not very accepting of waiting in the cold wind for people who didn’t know whether they would show up. But I can understand the human touch of the tour guide, and she also apologized and asked everyone to give them 10 minutes. After getting on the bus, the tour guide carefully explained the next itinerary, destination information and maps in Chinese and English, so that we could rent equipment and start skiing as soon as we arrived. The time spent in Mount Rokko is enough to skate at least 10 intermediate slopes; the beginner slopes are also very good. There is time to play in the snow tub and eat in the restaurant. (Except for the snow basin, which is free, everything else is at your own expense.) After getting on the bus, the tour guide explained Nara Park and asked everyone to rest and recharge. When we arrived in Nara, we followed the tour guide and took a small path to the side of Todaiji Temple. There were many relatively calm deer there, as well as beautiful lake views; warm museums and clean toilets. When in Nara, you can also enjoy the purple sunset. The return trip was a smooth one-hour drive and I had a good sleep. I arrived back at Dotongo just in time for dinner to continue my night trip.
The experience and meet up was seamless, we showed our QR code and was given a sticker for our bus. However it seems that Klook had a backend issue with the tour agency. We booked 2 sets of (parent + child) plus 1 adult, a total of 3 adults and 2 children. So 5 seats to be taken in total. However, the travel agency mentioned only 3 seats were registered and we are not the only family who experienced this error. I’m glad that there were sufficient seats on the bus to accommodate for the extra passengers. I must recommend the tour guide as she was patient and professional. She could speak English, Mandarin and Japanese which was helpful for us when we wanted to rent the ski equipment at the Rokko snow mountain. My kids enjoyed themselves at the snow play and sledge slide! The Nara deer park was relaxing and beautiful too. There were much lesser deers as compared to my visit back in 2019. We walked pass the tourist areas where the deers seemed so full from all the deer biscuits. We walked to the pond much further down and it was beautiful with many more deers and lesser tourists too! We reached back Dotonbori by 6pm. Will definitely recommend for family with young children!
