Reviews
Both myself and partner thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on this trip. the walking wasn’t very taxing, the cruise was relaxing. and the ice cream sensational. highly recommend.
Daniel is super knowledgeable. He has over 20 years of experience as a tour guide. We visited many places throughout the day. The lunch and ice cream were delicious, but there were not many hiking tours. Most of the time, we were dropped off at scenic spots for explanations (except for Daintree River where we took a boat to see crocodiles). I hope there will be more hiking tours!
Very well organised and run by the very knowledgeable Daniel & Down Under Tours - in spite of some rain we had a great time. Bus was clean and comfortable, plenty of stops. Everyone enjoyed morning tea, lunch and afternoon (ice cream!) refreshments. Daintree forest, river and Cape Tribulation were amazing
Definitely worth it! We stayed at Port Douglas and the the tour operator picked us up around 8.30am. Our tour guide Daniel was super-entertaining and kept the group engaged. He is very knowledgable and knows flora and fauna of the region quite well. The tour packs a lot in one day but there isn't a single moment of dullness! We went through Daintree rainforest; crossed Daintree river; and then drove all the way up to Cape Tribulation. The tour includes lunch. We had lunch in the middle of the rainforest next to a river. It was beautiful and the lunch serving comprising of steak; sausages; fish; rice and salad was quite generous. Along the way, we also managed to squeeze in a quick stop at Daintree Ice Cream Co. in the middle of the forest! We wrapped-up the tour by doing a short 45 min river cruise on river Daintree and were dropped-off back in Port Douglas by 4:30pm. Definitely recommend this trip. It's good value for money.
Rushed around the entire day and spent more time on the bus than anything else with a group of VERY elderly folks and it severely limited the experience. the guide was more than a bit demanding about when and how you use the bathroom. I understand the road is under construction, but all it seemed like she wanted to do was get the tour over all day. Cape tribulation was literally a 20 minute walk to the beach and back and she terrified everyone about getting anywhere near the water, let alone touching it, or you will die, either from crocodiles or stingers or God knows what. spent the day trying to scare visitors; I guess just to keep them in line. I really don’t even know what was supposed to be so spectacular. morning tea was ridiculous because I got a half sip of tea and a biscuit and was expected to eat it in four minutes. coffee drinkers on the other hand, had an entire pot to share. lunch was just as limiting in a plated fashion and half of it was not even food I would eat. the other group near us at least got the buffet and was able to choose food they liked. would never do this again in this manner and it was simply way too expensive. Not one second is devoted to looking at anything in any store and you are reprimanded and scolded not to. Bring food bc it’s boring on the bus.
