Reef Magic Pontoon Cruise Tour from Cairns

A day on the Great Barrier Reef is a must for any visit to FNQ and this experience is one that will stick in our memories forever. Everything was amazing from the staff to the food to the quality of the wetsuits and facilities on the pontoon. I was also extremely impressed with the cultural presentation at the end of the day that referenced local aboriginal people and the significance the reef has to them. The experience allows for around 5hrs on the pontoon that we found to be sufficient. I would also recommend this tour to hesitant swimmers as there are floatation vests and foam noodles available for those not confident in the open water. Can't wait to do it again!

The overall itinerary was well-organized. For those prone to seasickness, it's essential to take medication 30 minutes before boarding, as the ride can be very choppy. Although many people vomited, the crew was very experienced and attended to everyone individually, which was commendable! The snorkeling area had many small fish, and the water quality was quite clear, making it easy to see the coral reefs. If you have friends who aren't strong swimmers, I highly recommend Reef Magic, as you can take a glass-bottom boat, a sightseeing boat, or visit the underwater observatory, allowing you to see coral and fish without getting in the water! We booked a helicopter tour, but it was canceled due to weather, which was quite disappointing. There was also no clear explanation of the conditions under which cancellations would occur, making the decision feel rather arbitrary. Klook did assist with processing the refund for the price difference.

Amazing and eye opening experience even if you do not wish to participate in diving or snorkeling. We had great visibility and managed to see lots of fishes and corals while on the semi submersible and the glass bottom boat.

Reef Majic is a very professional company. Since my parents had a history of illness, they specially put special marks on their snorkeling equipment. This made me feel at ease because the lifeguards were always watching them. In addition, the facilities on the boat were also very good. It is good and provides all the equipment you need for snorkeling. You can go there with peace of mind and the food is delicious! I saw a lot of fish swimming by!

Great experience. The helicopter ride is really worth the money. The lunch is ok. The time on the platform is sufficient.

Absolutely brilliant day on the reef. The tour ran so smoothly, you can tell they have it down to a fine art. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The lunch was delicious. Glass bottom boat and semi sub were fantastic inclusions - highly recommend doing both. We saw turtles and sharks and learnt so much about the reef system from the marine biologists. Snorkelling was fantastic even though the water was a bit choppy and we had rain at times. Would highly recommend this Reef Magic tour to anyone. Just a tip as there was quite a few people suffering seasickness on board the boat- bring seasickness tablets with you, they work wonders. Also saw whales on the ride back which was a treat and we also thoroughly enjoyed the on-board presentations and cultural talks.

Good for people who wants to snorkel or dive or learn to/experience snorkel. There are on-board friendly and experience staff to assist you. The lunch buffet is not really fantastic. There are other activities on board if you don’t want to snorkel or dive. Bring sea sick pill just in case as the cruise ride is very choppy in Nov.

Staff was awesome. Encountered strong waves while traveling on the ferry, so half the passengers were sick by the time we reach. Due to strong waves, semi sub, helicopter was cancelled. Check the tides levels before you go. During low tide, you can't swim over the corals in the afternoon. lunch went out quickly.
