Best spot for snorkeling would be near the restaurant / cafe where the rocks are. Went to Nudey Beach - the sand was coral so bring reef shoes. even when snorkeling best to wear reef shoes. Lots of visitors on the day we went. It was windy but sunny. We did the Summit first prior to Snorkeling. Took us 2 hours return with stops. I enjoyed Fitzroy because of the hike. The beach and snorkeling are okay.
arrived at reef terminal and went to the booth closest to the souvenir shop/toilet, had to show boarding pass so best to check email and download before going down as showing the klook voucher was not sufficient, ferry ride was comfortable, did not get seasick at all :) fitzroy island was as described, did a 2h 15 min short hike around 4.9km and then went to nudey beach thereafter
The highlight for me was definitely the Nudey Beach. The weather was perfect, the water was very clear and the beach was isolated and clean. I did not do snorkeling, which was popular there, but the views while hiking were nice too.
great organized trip, arrive early to get a good seat, beautiful island and great nature - return is possible at 2 or 4 pm
the island is great but I think the equipment in the island could be better, there is lack of washing room.Besides, since there are different types of group in the same boat, the instructions should be more clear. the glass boat tour is great.
The weather was perfect, and the environment was great for this price. We were lucky enough to encounter a turtle while snorkeling, which made the kids very happy. Although we had to walk a little bit up a mountain path, the nude beach was also very beautiful and became a memorable place. Best of all, there were not many people in this environment, and it didn't feel crowded. As for the bad points, there are no lifeguards, so if there is a problem with the snorkeling equipment, it may be a little dangerous for the children. However, the total is great. If I have a chance, I would definitely like to participate again.
The staff were very polite and provided clear instructions for getting on the boat, and the rented snorkeling equipment was also very clean. The water on the island is very clear. However, January is the rainy season in Cairns, so the weather is cloudy and slightly rainy, and the water visibility is less than usual. There are basic flushing facilities and restrooms on the island. For travelers who don’t have enough time to go to Dabaojiao, this island is a good choice.
Amazing experience that was very worth it. Views were incredible and unforgettable
An absolute must do when coming to Cairns. Such a beautiful island, take a walk over to Nudey beach ( no, it is not a nude beach 😂) it’s absolutely stunning. Just be careful walking over there to the beach, it’s very rocky and lots of walking up and down rocks to get there 😊
We stayed on the island for about 7 hours. There is a course where you can walk through the forest as well as the sea, so you can enjoy it without getting bored. The hamburger at the only cafe on the island was hearty and delicious. The transparency of the sea was not very high, probably due to the typhoon, but there were many different kinds of fish swimming in the shallows.
