This was a great way to see quite a few of the shrines, temples, and shopping areas. It was a cold and windy day, so you must be prepared for the open air tour. I would have liked more buses so there was shorter wait times between stops. I just barely missed 2 and had to piddle for an hour while waiting for the next one. There was a lot of traffic, so the bus times are not exact. Due to the heavy traffic in the evening, they stop running before 5 pm; that was a bummer, since the line doesnt run until 9am and there are 2 routes - red and blue. Cherry blossoms were beatiful at the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and the Okazaki Park was beautiful and had many vendor booths. I would have loved to spend another week in kyoto alone. The food/art/culture is amazing and rich in history.
was a great experience! my friend and I were looking for some guidance on what to do for our day trip in Kyoto. we decided to book this bus and see where the wind took us. we ended up at nishiki market where we spent most of the day shopping and eating. we then just hopped on the bus again, rode the other bus route and just took in the views before getting dinner. it was a great experience and very cost effective as well! I’d highly recommend this bus to anyone looking for some trip inspiration :)
This is a must if you are visiting Kyoto! The view from the top deck is amazing and love the option of staying on and getting off at the many destinations. They provide earbuds that connects to the seats where the tour guide gives you the history and background of each destination. When it rained they gave us ponchos to wear and gave us the option to climb down to the enclosed bottom cabin. Make sure you keep the tickets they give you after they scan the QR code from the receipt from Klook. Every time you ride back on they will rescan them. I highly recommend this tour!
This by far the most worth buy we made in Kyoto. If you have limited time and would like to see Kyoto’s tourist spots then this is the best for you. Bus was on time and guides were helpful. The bus have roofs so we did not get wet when it was raining.
2 Great Lines, East and West Kyoto. Good commentary and most of the noticeable Temples near the stops. Great tour!
The photos you see are the ones taken along the actual bus route. You can get on the bus whenever you want and there are always seats available. You can go to all the famous attractions in Kyoto without having to worry about transportation or doing research. I recommend this itinerary to all travelers coming to Kyoto. It's very cost-effective!
There was a guide on every bus to assist the driver. He ensured the safety of the passengers so that the driver could concentrate on driving. Audio guide was also informative.
After exiting Kyoto Station, walk to the bus stop all the way to the left and wait to board. Both the red and blue lines have great sightseeing spots. My girlfriend wasn't feeling well that day, so we only went to Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Hopefully, we'll have the chance to visit more places next time! 😅
