Simply breathtaking and this is probably the only day tour of Daisetsuzan that does the Asahidake itinerary! Since first snow of the whole Japan up on Asahidake on 2 Oct, my visit on 7 Oct had been a snow-melted 1.5-hour hike. I am glad I brought my snow boots, windbreaker, down jacket and hiking stick for the slightly slippery yet easily manageable route at 3.3°C. (You can borrow boots and sticks from the official shop if you need.) Although the guides only took us up Asahidake Ropeway and let us hike on our own, the route was very simple even for beginners. For spotting red leaves, they lowered to the foot of the mountain by Oct already. The second spot i.e. the nearby waterfall in Daisetsuzan National Park totally fulfilled our maple-leave desires with varying degrees of colors all over the slopes. The long commotion from and to Sapporo and the tourist spots turned out to be helpfully restful after all the hikes! I totally recommend anyone to have a go with this tour in any weather.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful day out to Daisetzusan National Park, thanks to Tour Story. Although this was listed as a self-guided tour, Baku, from the agency made sure none of us got lost on Mt Asahidake by meeting us at the critical intersections along the route. We had sufficient time on the mountain but ended up missing lunch due to the heavier-than-expected visitor traffic that day, and also to a few stragglers in the group. However, most, if not all of us forgave Baku, as we could see that he was trying hard to keep everything in order, after the tour Baku shared with us a list of his favourite dining places in Sapporo, which was very helpful, considering that we only got back to the city at 7pm.
The tour was very well timed and organised. we were allowed sufficient time to hike at Asahidate and the tour guide has good recommendations on the sequence of completion of hiking to tie in with the ropeway timing. We are very fortunate to meet with good weather and the autumn leaves at the Hagoromo falls was great. I want to thank Cinna san for even recommending places for meals in Sapporo. Lastly, I also want to thank both Edo san and Cinna San for the cute mochi they bought for us to try.
Pick up point was easy to find and Yushi San our guide of the day. He kept good care of the whole group of 41 (wow) nice crowds and we are quite punctual. Checked the weather and condition of the mountain Asahiyama before you go. We hiked on the snowy path and the rail was wet, slippery and icy. Boot and walking stick rental is available the rope way station. There is no water refill at both ropeway stations, line to wait for the food was not worth the wait. So bring snacks and water or you can buy at the rest stop Yushi San will tell you his yummy picks, and even send us recommendations on restaurants around Sapporo. Hagoromo falls was beautiful and easy hike although it was not fully autumy collor in the valley but we still had fun! Thank you Yushi San and also to Sakamoto San our cool driver!!
The attraction is quite a distance from Sapporo, and the schedule was packed to the absolute limit. However, it was still possible to explore the sights to a certain extent. The autumn scenery of Mount Asahidake and Hagoromo Falls is breathtaking and well worth a visit. The tour guide, Mia, created a group chat in advance for communication; she was punctual, proactive, and prompt, providing excellent guidance and service throughout the entire trip, which is truly commendable.
We were so excited to join the tour on October 5th after hearing about the first snow on October 2nd! It was a mix of snow and the beginning of the fall foliage. While it was nice, the snow that fell while we were going up and down the observatory made it very inconvenient, slippery, and even dangerous. However, we managed to visit viewpoints 1 through 5 safely and came back down. Our group of 11, led by our Korean-speaking guide Sky, luckily got to ride in a vehicle together just for Koreans, while a group of 50 foreign travelers rode in a separate vehicle, though we traveled along the same route and kept similar schedules. Since we had to catch the 14:00 ropeway down, lunchtime was very tight (the food we ordered came out late). Also, the Hagoromo Falls we visited next was magnificent and wonderful.
The tour guide was extremely friendly and happy to share bits of life in Hokkaido, and chatting with them was such a joy! Thank you for creating such wonderful memories for us. The scenery was also stunning! I certainly wouldn't have been able to visit these places on my own. And the little cookies were very cute. 😽 As for the tour, it was wonderful to explore Mount Asahidake, even though walking around the mountain within an hour felt a bit tight. I LOVE the view of Tenninkyo! Beautiful autumn leaves. I definitely would recommend others to take this tour if you want to explore the region during fall. Please provide more Hokkaido tours so I can join again next time! Thank you very much!
Participating in the Snow Mountain trip this time was truly worthwhile. The scenery along the way was as colorful as expected, the weather remained great, and the tour guide was very dedicated and responsible. All the group members were cooperative and punctual, making it a truly wonderful trip.
Although we only visited two attractions, both were very beautiful. It was a well-worth day trip, and thanks to our tour guide Cinna for leading us throughout the day!
A very good experience as compared to my previous day tour. Both guide, Mr. Baku and Mr. In Ho are very friendly, professional and plan the trip very well. This trip required a lots of walking and stairs/slope which might not suitable for some seniors who don't exercise but definately a must go for Autum season.
