Kyoto Gion Small-Group Night Walk with Local Students

We booked the tour and got Reon as our guide, it was just me and my mom on the tour so it was private! Reon was incredibly nice and knew everything there was to know about shintoism buddhism and he explained it to us perfectly . it was amazing, the streets were almost empty and it was very peaceful. Reon explained to us about the history of the geiko and the maiko and we walked through the geisha district. i would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the japanese culture and if you want an incredible nice and interesting guide ask for Reon.

Had an amazing experience. Our guide, Ko, was really nice. He mentioned that this was just his 3rd such tour, but was a pro. Gave us a lot of information about the places we visited and also took us through some secret by-lanes. The conversations along the way too were very interesting. Thank you! Would certainly recommend this for anyone looking for a nice evening stroll in Kyoto.

It exceeded my expectations. I didn't have high hopes, but I didn't expect this area to have such a unique charm at night. The main reason is that there are basically no tall buildings here, and the scenery is truly breathtaking, especially after the lights come on at night. It was a huge surprise. The tour guide was very thorough, and any questions I had were answered promptly. It's much better than wandering around by myself, and I also had the opportunity to exchange cultural insights and travel experiences with tourists from all over the world. We had a great time on the walking tour with our guide Suzuki. We had chosen the 6pm slot for the tour which we definitely recommend as you got to see Gion as the sun was setting which was beautiful. Suzuki was a very knowledgable guide and being shown around by a student added to the experience as we heard about what it was like to live in Kyoto and we got some great recommendations for places to eat.

This was a fantastic tour to learn more the customs and cultures of Japan. Our young daughter enjoyed having a student guide to practice her Japanese language skills and learn from. Ranking this as one of the most valuable experiences integrated into our time in Kyoto.

Although Gion Matsuri was incredibly crowded and chaotic, our guide, Leon, remained calm and provided excellent assistance. He explained things in a way that was easy for me to understand, even with my limited English, which I really appreciated. The tour route was efficient, and I learned a lot about Japanese culture that I hadn't known before. We were even lucky enough to see a geisha, which was a truly impressive experience. I highly recommend this tour!

We had a tour guide named Yuta. Was really informative and made sure we were all in the same place, even though some of us stopped for a while to take photos. Did not think much of this guide but ended up loving it so much. 10/10 recommend anyone who wants to dive deep into the culture and understand abit of history on temples and Geisha and Maikos
