Reviews
My daughters wanted to wear kimonos, so after searching, we came to Lei Shinsaibashi. I booked it right away because it had good reviews and was a great value on Klook. The kimonos were so beautiful that my children had a hard time choosing. The accessories, like hair ornaments and shoes, were all lovely, and the makeup area and fitting rooms were spacious and nice. The staff were also very kind and helpful. I'm satisfied and would definitely visit again. I highly recommend it! ^^
My 4 friends and I loved this experience. we upgraded our hair dos and it was totally worth it. We chose an early morning reservation and enjoyed our kimonos all day. We also had plus sized girls in our group and everyone was able to be accommodated. Really this was one of my favorite things I did in Japan.
Before returning to Korea, I rented a kimono and participated in a Dotonbori photoshoot. I was grateful that the staff kindly helped me put on the kimono. It's not easy to put on a kimono, but as professionals, they were quick. They also helped me take it off when I returned it. If I have the opportunity to visit Osaka again, I'll visit you again. I wish you success! ^^
Quick and simple but classy and fashionable. The ladies who helped us changed to kimono and did our hair did a great job!, we were so happy, excited and had so much fun. Drapped in the elegance beauty of Japanese culture through kimono, we love it!❤️ Japanese women should be proud of wearing Kimono, stunning, great posture, elegant, walking slowly with grace and style, respectable aura. I highly recommend this group very efficient, clean, respectful staff. Will do it again when we come back to OSAKA. Domo arigato gozaimasu!👘✌️🇯🇵
Trying on a kimono that day was truly a unique experience. First, there was the furisode, so wide and large that the sleeves almost brushed the ground. The material was fine silk, embroidered with delicate cherry blossom patterns, smooth to the touch. The master dresser who helped me dress was extremely skilled, wrapping layer upon layer, starting with the juban, then the nagajuban, and finally the gorgeous outer robe. The sash was tied so tightly that it almost took my breath away. I suppose this is why Japanese women are always soft-spoken and act so gently—being bound so tightly, no one could stride or speak loudly. A small pillow-like object was inserted into the waist; the master dresser said it was an "obiage" used to secure the wide obi belt. The obi knot was tied in the back, very intricate, and I was told there are various styles, but mine was just the most common. This attire has a certain dignity, as if you're not just wearing a garment, but putting on a whole set of behavioral norms. Looking in the mirror, the person reflected suddenly seemed much more reserved. My back straightened involuntarily, my head lowered slightly, and even my smile became more subtle. The beauty of the kimono probably lies not in how it adorns the body, but in how it restrains the heart, teaching people to quiet down from the outside in. Wearing this garment felt like draping an entire culture over my body.
We suddenly decided to wear kimonos on our second day in Japan. There weren't many shops to choose from in Osaka on Klook, but this one had reasonable prices, so we booked it. The shop is conveniently located in Dotonbori, near Shinsaibashi. They have Chinese-speaking staff, and a wide variety of kimono styles are available, arranged by color, making it easy to choose. There are plenty of standard "Komon" kimonos to select from. The reservation package also includes hairstyles and hair accessories; the stylists are skilled and fast. It took about 70 minutes for all four of us to complete the entire process. A very good shop!
The price on Klook was great, and the owner of this shop is very nice. She gives out free accessories and provides instructions when you need them. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the service. The hairstyles are done quickly; even though the free hairstyles don't have many design options, you can tell they are very skilled. The entire hairstyle takes less than 10 minutes, super fast! Highly recommend!
Osaka Rei Kimono, located near Dotonbori, boasts a fantastic location! Stepping outside, you're right on the most bustling street, and it only takes a few minutes to walk to Shinsaibashi. This shop is newly opened but is a well-established kimono store with locations in Kyoto and Tokyo. All the kimonos are brand new. The store offers service in both Chinese and English. Special mention goes to the hairstyling – they braid it beautifully! Many kimono shops in Osaka charge by the hour, but this one charges by the day. The price is about the same as hourly rates, making it a great deal. It's even cheaper than in Kyoto! I absolutely love this store and have already recommended it to my friends.
We went early in the morning, so there weren't many people. The service was excellent, and we could communicate via WeChat (we were half an hour late). Makeup and photography were also included. Photographer Xiao Guang was very friendly and meticulous! Overall, the experience was great. A small suggestion: it would be more hygienic to offer disposable makeup sponges and brushes. Everything else was wonderful!
Dressing the whole family in kimonos to visit Kyoto and Nara really matched the atmosphere. The makeup and hair stylist was very skillful and quickly styled our hair. Also, being able to get dressed in the city center before heading to the sights allowed us to better control our time. It was a very fun experience, and it was very convenient that the shop took a deposit, allowing us to return the clothes the next day.
