Reviews
Great value! Many complaints about Kibune and Rurikoin Temple are due to the difficult transportation, so this day tour really solves that problem. It would be nice to have a more leisurely option; there wasn't enough time to ride the Eizan Electric Railway.
It's a driver-cum-guide team, and the driver was super nice and very friendly. He even offered to help take photos, so I felt very safe traveling alone. Aside from feeling a bit rushed at Nanchan Temple, there was plenty of time for everything else, and the scenery was beautiful. They contacted me in a group chat a day in advance, which was reassuring. Highly recommended!
The tour guide has a great attitude, speaks fluent Chinese, and provides excellent service.
This tour is just a ride-sharing service. The driver was punctual, but there was no tour guide – neither Chinese nor English. Please remove "Tour includes Chinese/English tour guide" from the description.
The Kyoto meeting point provided for the Klook tour was incorrect. The picture and the copied address pointed to different 7-Elevens. I rushed between the two locations in the morning but still missed the pickup. I had to take the subway and transfer to a bus to Rurikoin Temple, and finally managed to contact the driver to join the rest of the tour. My initial desire to relax was completely ruined and I felt utterly exhausted.
The Google Maps location for the meeting point on the platform was incorrect, and I had to contact the driver to find it. I've already reported this to the platform (I saw someone else left a comment with the same issue, not sure why it hasn't been fixed yet). Visiting the Kibune Shrine requires some physical exertion to climb the mountain, about 2 kilometers. Most of the time was spent going up and down the mountain. The purpose of hiring a private car was for convenience, so I feel like this could be improved. Rurikoin Temple is a tranquil spot, while Sanzen-in and Kibune are gradually becoming just photo spots for tourists and social media influencers.
The Chinese driver, picking us up in Kyoto, was half an hour late due to traffic. They only provided transportation (several attractions were not dropped off at the closest point, requiring a long and tiring walk), without any tour guide services. I wouldn't have booked this if other travel agencies offered tours to these three attractions.
The driver was over forty minutes late. While I understand traffic can cause delays, could I have been informed in advance? The parking areas for the attractions are quite far. Because of the delay, there wasn't enough time to wait in line for the Kawadoko dining experience at Kibune Shrine. If I have the chance again, I won't choose this tour; it would be better to go on my own.
