Reviews
Taiga was our tour guide. He took all 8 of us through the trains and recommended the bullet train from Kobe port to Kyoto. He was wonderful, knowledgeable and spoke great English. He was in tune with our family and took the time to teach our kids and us about Japanese culture. while at the shrine he used it as a teaching opportunity to teach our kids about Zen and how one must be flexible in body and mind. I loved that he took time to get to know us. We even had a great at the revolving sushi bar. Kyoto was beautiful and he helped take photos of our family throughout. Thank you Taiga San for the wonderful day!!!
Our guide was great; she took us everywhere we wanted to go and explained everything brilliantly. Thank you very much.
Giken was at the port waiting for us and took us back ar the end of the day. He took great pictures of us all day and sent them to us right away. However, His English was not good and he was very hard to understand. he didn't understand our questions. he had to stop and ask for directions several times. He did not share information about the history or the sites. he walked quite fast and didn't always check to see if we were keeping up. We were surprised that we had to pay for his subway tickets - this was not in the trip description and we have not done this with other guides. we paid extra for green bullet train tickets, but he said there was only enough money for one way first class, and we took regular seats on the way back which was quite disappointing. we felt rushed at times, had no time to look around at the market. He seemed like a nice young man, but perhaps guiding English speaking tourists is not a good match for him.
