Reviews
We had a great time during this workshop! Hearing about the history was interesting, and we found the kimono art fun and easy to do as we’re pretty crafty. The best part is being able to choose and take a beautiful piece of vintage, recycled kimono without having to buy a whole kimono. The quality of the crafting materials was also great. You’re using real nails and staples instead of something like glue. Yuki was nice to talk to and answered all our questions. I would have enjoyed more information in the presentation about how the obi is folded and different configurations or meanings, but there was still a lot of great history and regional variations and the symbology of the different motifs.
Absolutely amazing experience! Yuki guided me first through the history of kimono and then I could prepare myself the best souvenir ever! Thank you Yuki!
So much fun! The instructors are very knowledgeable, helpful and kind! I will be coming back with friends next time!
I could tell the instructor has a great passion for kimono art as she enthusiastically shared her story and her reason for why she decided to host this workshop. She really wanted to share the art of Kimono design with others and the joy of preserving its heritage as well as finding second life for such clothing. the instructor gave a clear, concise and engaging presentation of kimono, and the process of making the final products was well instructed. Basic japanese conversation and knowledge is recommended to enjoy the workshop
A most culturally interesting & challenging experience. The teachers were so helpful & patient. The finished product was so beautiful. Give this class a try 😊
