Reviews

Review for: From Nagoya: Crafting Traditions in Tokoname and Arimatsu

My guide Kim was very friendly and cheerful, and knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited. This is particular helpful because most of the people in the shops and museums do not speak English well. Kim was also very caring about my mom to make sure she was not too tired or too hot (the heat was surprisingly strong on that day). Our driver Iwasaki sen was very good. This was a bonus for me as I easily get motion sickness but I was feeling comfortable throughout the whole trip. I strongly recommend those who are interested in the cultural heritage of Nagoya to join this tour. You will learn some of the amazing traditional Japanese handicrafts, that are unique here. One good thing of the tour us that it's a small group tour, so you will be able to enjoy the tour quietly.

Good to know

For those looking to join from Tokyo, take the following services on the Tokaido Shinkansen line:

Departing Tokyo Station – Arriving Nagoya Station

Tokyo: 07:00 – Nagoya: 08:38 – Nozomi No. 203

Tokyo: 07:09 – Nagoya: 08:47 – Nozomi No. 9

Rather than heading straight back to Tokyo, we recommend staying in Nagoya after the tour or booking accommodation in Hikone or Ise.

For international visitors holding a Japan Rail (JR) Pass, both train services (including reservations) can be used without any additional charge.
