[Hitachi Seaside Park Nemophila] The spring scenery of Hitachi Seaside Park is famous for its fantastic nemophila flowers. Approximately 4.5 million luminous flowers cover the entire hill, allowing visitors to enjoy this beautiful spectacle along with the fresh breeze flowing over the hill. In addition, 270,000 tulips and 1 million daffodils are also in beautiful bloom!
[Ashikaga Flower Park Great Wisteria] The wisteria flower viewing, a spring tradition at Ashikaga Flower Park, is especially recommended under the illumination from dusk to night. The Great Wisteria Trellis (150 years old, a natural monument designated by Tochigi Prefecture) and the 80-meter-long yellow wisteria tunnel, illuminated by lights, create a fantastic atmosphere, making it the most spectacular view. In addition, white wisteria, pale red wisteria, and over 5,000 azaleas, among other colorful flowers, welcome your arrival.
[Hitachi Seafood Center or Hitachi Minami Roadside Station] For Ibaraki’s seafood, we proudly recommend “Hitachi Seafood Center” or “Hitachi Minami Roadside Station.” (※Cannot be chosen) ・Hitachi Seafood Center: A direct sales facility operated by the Kuji-cho Fishery Cooperative, directly connected to fishermen. Its charm lies in being able to purchase some fish that are difficult to obtain in large markets at reasonable prices. ・Hitachi Minami Roadside Station: Offers a rich variety of fresh seafood from fishing ports within Ibaraki Prefecture. ※Please note in advance that if the arrival time at Hitachi Seaside Park exceeds 13:00 due to congestion on the day, etc., there will be no shopping stop.

Reviews
Hitachi Seaside Park is very large. The tour group dropped us off at the entrance near the sea (I just realized there are 4 entrances, east, west, south, and north). Walk a little to the right and you will find the famous blue butterfly flower hill. However, when I went there on 5/10, the flowers were withering, and it was raining, so the sea of flowers was not as beautiful, but it was still spectacular. There are other areas, and I actually walked around. My thoughts: I walked around once within the time I stayed there, and my legs were really broken. Ashikaga Flower Park is highly recommended and really worth a visit. Although the wisteria flowers are also withering, there are other flowers in full bloom in the park, such as roses, azaleas, and peonies, which amazed me. It can be seen that the entire garden is well maintained.
This is a straightforward tour that takes you to two parks—perfect if you’re short on time but want to visit both. A Japanese tour leader is provided, along with English/Chinese-speaking guides, though they don’t speak much. We joined on May 4th, 2025. Most flowers were still in full bloom, though the tulips had started to wither. Hitachi is a vast park, and two hours isn’t enough to explore it all. It rained heavily during our visit to Ashikaga, but the scenery was still stunning. Due to Golden Week traffic, the tour ended later than expected. Suggestions for improvement: • Start earlier to allow more time at each park. • Offer optional Japanese bento boxes (at extra cost) to enhance the picnic experience. Overall, a fun experience—just be mindful of the timing and weather for the best views.
The trip was pleasant and we got to enjoy both the parks! The Japanese guide was very detail and kind. The english guide was fine as well but he did skip parts of the translation probably because they were not very important. The management and the time-management was very nice as well.
It was an amazing trip!!! The tour guide was sweet, calm, informative and precise. I really liked all three places, that I already want to book another trip!
everything was great! the baby blue eyes at hitachi seaside park are rly beautiful .. the meeting point was quite hard to find as Shinjuku station has many exits.. thus try to go earlier in the morning ..
Hitachi Seaside Park is a must. Visited mid-April; the blue nemophilas were in full bloom. Saying the view was stunning is an understatement. Park is huge, won't have enough time to explore too much, and there's a lot of people even on a Mon. Ashikaga felt slightly disappointing after Hitachi, is much smaller, so the crowd was even worse. Timing was just right as we reached at dusk; able to view wisteria at both day and night times. This is a JAPANESE tour: tour guide barely speaks English. A piece of paper with English instructions is all you get. No assigned toilet or meal breaks, so be prepared to super independent, breaking off as neede, and be VERY mindful of where the bus is and the time to leave. Visited a seafood market in between where you can eat sashimi for tea but it's gonna be rushed; there's a kombini and a few restaurants too. Highly recommend to have heavy lunch before tour and bring snacks.
The flowers are almost in full bloom now (21st april). I’m glad that I picked this tour. Let the pictures be the judges 🙌
The scenery is beautiful, but unfortunately it was a long trip to Japan, so the traffic was quite congested and we stayed at the scenic spot for a relatively short time
I went there on April 22nd! The guide was friendly and the weather was just right. However, it was almost impossible to see everything in Hitachi Park in just 2 hours. So I just looked at the nemophila field and finished. Most of the flowers were in bloom and about 90% were in bloom. However, the wisteria flowers were not yet in full bloom.
Most of the group members were Japanese, and because foreigners were in the minority, no translation service was provided. The meeting time is only explained in simple English, so knowing a little Japanese will be a better experience. The butterfly flowers are very beautiful, but the wisteria flowers have withered, leaving only white and yellow wisteria.
