We arrived at around 7.15 pm for the night illumination only. We purchased our tickets via Klook, and redemption at the ticketing office was quick and easy. The park was relatively quiet at night, which made the experience very relaxing and enjoyable. Wild ducks could be seen walking freely around the park, adding to the charm. There were many interesting light installations throughout the gardens. One of the highlights for us was the lotus pond, where the lighting moved in rhythm with the music, creating a very beautiful and immersive experience. We spent about one hour walking through the park and taking everything in. Parking is free, which is an added convenience. Overall, it is definitely a place worth visiting if you have extra time in your itinerary, especially for the night illumination experience.
experience: Our family of four enjoyed the beautiful botanical gardens. The kids had fun feeding all the animals including the capybaras, tortoises, guinea pigs and rabbits. The animal food is not free so make sure to bring plenty of 100 yen coins to purchase feeding food. Also, it is very sunny so I would recommend sun protection like hats and sun shade umbrella and sunscreen.
My fiance and I absolutely loved our time at the southeast botanical gardens. Definitely a great place to visit for families and couples and well worth a visit. From the beautiful flowers, to feeding the capybaras, large tortoises and goats, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will come back in the near future. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Okinawa.
very quiet and peaceful place. my daughter has a lot of fun on close up feeding the goats, turtles, hamsers, capybaras, squirrel monkey and also the birds. this will never been a chance in Singapore. Worth paying abt SGD 15 dollar.
It's really complicated to reach. the park is very beautiful and well-kept, the staff are friendly, the restaurant inside is excellent!
I bought a one-day ticket. During the day, you can encounter botanical garden-like scenery such as rows of bougainvillea and palm trees, and there are also animals, so it was a place that families can enjoy. At night, there were various illuminations in the large garden, so it was fun in many ways. You can re-enter the garden, so first go in the morning, then have lunch or do other sightseeing, and then come back after sunset. Tickets are purchased in advance and you have a QR code, but you have to line up in the same place as the people who buy tickets, so it's not a smooth entrance. When re-entering the garden, you just have to show the sticker you received, so you don't have to line up.
I went there for the first time two years ago and the illuminations were beautiful, so this time I bought a ticket for the evening. It was a nice, hot day and it finally got dark after 7:30pm. I visited the botanical gardens while it was still light and then moved on to see the illuminations. The pond area was really beautiful, with lights flashing in time with the music. It was a bit relaxed and cute rather than gorgeous. I was very satisfied again this time.
Was very good. Recommend staying in Naha since it’s the central area and close to the shopping streets.
