There are many retro-themed small shops to browse, and also some exhibitions, such as how people used to pan for gold, telling stories, and so on. There are also restaurants and gift shops. The restaurants, as expected, are a bit more expensive, and the quality is average. You can probably set aside about 3 hours for your visit.

A must-visit! Highly recommended! There are two types of tickets: one for a full park tour, and another that includes a ride on a mining cart down to the mining area. I suggest buying the package deal, it's much more cost-effective. The park has meticulously recreated the gold rush town of that era, and the staff are dedicated to portraying the lifestyle of the time!

A very enjoyable trip, Mark is a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, he teaches us gold panning skills and he tells us very much about the history of that area during the trip. Since gold panning is really interesting, I definitely recommend this activity as one of must try items in Melbourne.

Our guide, Cloudy, introduced the region and its history along the way. Although the journey was long, it was incredibly worthwhile. Every detail in Sovereign Hill was fascinating, like stepping into a game world. I wish we had more time there.
