When I decided to visit China for the first time, as a female solo-traveller who does not speak Mandarin, I didn’t know what to expect from the experience. But I am so happy to report that everything about the experience was incredible. From the moment I made the klook booking to the moment I was dropped off for my return flight, everything was beautifully arranged and managed by the tour company. It was so easy to contact people from the company and ask questions at any time (literally 24/7) using WeChat. The small group size was great. It meant having some company without getting overwhelmed by the crowd and busyness of a larger group that is typical of bigger companies. The driver was excellent at his job and even gave us good information along the way and took great photos for us. The itinerary is well-arranged - we spent a bit of time in lower altitudes like Lijiang and Dali before heading to places like Shangri-La which helped us acclimatise. The company provides a face scarf (UV protection), an inflatable travel pillow and oxygen can to make the journey more comfortable. All-in-all it was an excellent experience and one I can recommend wholeheartedly.

Would recommend this tour if one requires a convenient and worry-free tour to see the beautiful sights between Lijiang and Shangri-La! Master Guo Guo was determined to help us catch the Meili snow mountain views, letting us off at a viewpoint on day 1 to catch it and recommending places near our hotel for us to catch it again, with sunrise, on day 2.

My friend and I were very satisfied with the itinerary arrangements; it was a great experience. When a friend was unable to join at the last minute, the company upgraded us from a group tour to a private tour and arranged a 5-seater car for transfers. Lunch was also excellent, with delicious home-style dishes, though the portions were a bit too large, leading to some waste.

The driver was very kind, and the explanation was quite informative. While the trekking course might feel challenging, the experience, harmonized with the natural scenery, was incredibly meaningful. I thought lunch would be simple, but it was quite sufficient with bread, fruit, and more.

The guide was very good, and the scenery was beautiful. My travel companions were all very considerate, and getting out to meet different people really broadened my horizons. The hotel was particularly excellent, though I might have experienced some altitude sickness, so I didn't sleep very well the first two nights. Everything else was great! 👍

I think I was extremely fortunate to join this tour. If you want to experience the wonders of northern Yunnan, including trekking along Hutiaoxia (Tiger Leaping Gorge), marvelous Shangri-La temples, and the golden dawn of Meili Mountain, this is a must-go trip. I have traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Luoyang, the Northeast region, Xiamen, Quanzhou, and even Xinjiang, but this was the best trip so far in China. I am also very grateful to the tour organizer for arranging very nice hotels within a limited budget. I was able to communicate with the guide with my limited Chinese, so it's better to make sure you are accompanied by an English-speaking guide or tour participants ahead of time. Tiger Leaping Gorge, Shangri-La, and Songzanlin Monastery were all great. Especially impressive was the ethnic dance and performance we watched while having lunch after the Dukezong and Bukezong tour.
