A winding road up the hill from Minoh-Kayano Station leads you to the temple. After passing the checkpoint, you step into a different world. You'll find small Daruma dolls everywhere, literally, yet the temple still looks organized. We performed the Daruma doll offering prayer, and it felt peaceful. There was a slight drizzle, which enhanced the temple's beauty even more. This is a must-visit place if you're staying in Osaka or Kyoto. Arigato gozaimasu.

Nick was an amazing tour guide during this tour! He shared so much about not just the attractions we were visiting, he also taught us about Japanese culture and even some local greetings. The tour was really fun and a great way to visit many places in a day if your feet need a rest or you just want to cover more ground in a short period. Really recommended if you come to Osaka!

Today's tour was fantastic from start to finish. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, sharing interesting information throughout the day while keeping everything organized and enjoyable. The bus driver was exceptional, navigating safely and smoothly, making us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the journey.
Both were professional, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great experience. Thank you for helping make our day so memorable. Highly recommended!

Upon arriving at Fushimi Inari Shrine, the striking vermilion (orange-red) color is visible from afar, particularly dazzling on a cloudy day. Many Japanese shrines use this color, which is said to ward off evil and bring good fortune. It also continues the tradition of using cinnabar (mercury-containing) paint in earlier times to prevent insect damage. Beneath the vermilion, faith and function intertwine.
2. Bamboo blinds hung at the entrance of the temple, obscuring the view of the main hall. At first glance, I thought it was under renovation, but later learned that this is actually a traditional etiquette—the divine body should not be casually exposed to the public, symbolizing that the sacred should not be directly gazed upon, and adding a layer of solemn "distance" to the divine realm. The tour guide was incredibly meticulous.

Huahua was the absolute best tour guide! After two other tours had canceled on us because of the typhoon we were lucky to have been able to book this tour. It was actually a blessing because this was one of the best tours we’ve been on! HuaHua was an excellent tour guide and made sure we knew details and history about every stop we made. He even let us know where we could get the best matcha in Uji! The tour included Uji, Byodo, Kifune Shrine, and Katsuo-ji Temple. We were able to go to every stop with an ample amount of time to roam around and shop! Thank you to HuaHua and his beautiful singing voice for giving us the best tour in Osaka!

The tour guide was incredibly kind and explained everything in both Chinese and English, taking great care of us 👍🏻. Katsuo-ji Temple was absolutely delightful! 😍 You can see cute Daruma dolls everywhere, and you can also buy them at the gift shop to place wherever you like – it's a must-visit! Arashiyama is also great for exploring! I highly recommend trying the honey ice cream 🍦. Since each journey takes about an hour, you can catch up on sleep in the car 🤣. The overall itinerary doesn't include meal times, so everyone needs to find their own food.

Thank you to our guide Apple for taking care of us all day today. Your voice is sweet, you're very kind, and adorable! Although the itinerary was a bit rushed, it was expected that we wouldn't spend much time at each stop, given that we were visiting three major attractions in one day. Arashiyama and Katsuoji Temple were both very impressive! The advantage of joining a one-day tour like this is having a driver, allowing you to quickly visit key spots, and then you can choose your favorite attractions to explore in more depth later! Overall, it was a great experience. Plus, I happened to be staying in Osaka the day before and Kyoto the day after, so I boarded the bus in Osaka with my luggage, and on the return trip, I could tell the guide I wanted to get off in Kyoto, which saved me the trouble of dragging my luggage from Osaka to Kyoto!

One of the highlights of this trip was collecting the 6 stamps in Katsuoji… such a fun and memorable experience! 😍
Abigail is a great tour guide… very approachable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She made sure we were well-informed throughout the trip and really took care of everyone. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
