The sunset kayak tour was probably the highlight of my Okinawa trip! I was feeling down because it rained for three days straight after arriving in Okinawa, but as soon as I got on the kayak, the rain stopped, a double rainbow appeared, and the sun came out :) I was truly happy watching the sunset. However, the water near the kayak boarding area was incredibly murky before heading out to sea, which made me a bit hesitant to put my feet in (it felt like muddy water). Anyway, your shoes/clothes will definitely get wet, so be sure to bring flip-flops, and if you don't like your clothes getting wet, definitely bring a raincoat!!! I highly recommend kayaking on a nice day 🙌🏻

Today is definitely a lucky day!! It was raining all day on our first day in Okinawa, and today we were the only group of guests. We decided to take a chance and still participate in the canoeing activity. The latter half of the day cleared up, and we saw an excellent sunset!! Our guide was super nice~ He showed us many mangroves and other natural scenery! Highly recommended~

The activity location was very convenient and easy to reach; I found it simple to get to the meeting point by bus on my own 📍. This was my first time experiencing kayaking in Okinawa, and I felt very happy seeing the beautiful Okinawan sunset 🧡. Our instructor, Miku, was kind and friendly, leading the entire activity smoothly and safely 👍. They also helped take many photos, which made me very happy 💕. I highly recommend this to everyone visiting Okinawa 👍.

Simple and easy to pick up! It requires a little bit of physical effort, but once you get the hang of paddling, it's a breeze! Before getting into the water, the instructor gives an easy-to-understand briefing. Even if you don't speak Japanese, you don't have to worry at all about not understanding. The instructor is also great at taking active photos of everyone and airdrops them to you at the end—such a nice Japanese guy! The sunset over the sea is gorgeous! It can be a bit sunny, so be sure to bring sunglasses 🕶️

kayak experience: Today's kayaking tour was a lot of fun because our guide, Miku, took us to all the beautiful spots by kayak and took some really great photos of us, which was awesome. This was the most enjoyable experience during my trip to Okinawa. Kayaking for the first time was fun, and I was truly happy listening to my favorite music while admiring the beautiful sunset and the shimmering water on the river. They sent reservation confirmations and various notices via KakaoTalk, and when I actually got there, I found that shorts, Crocs, and towels were all available for free rental. There's no extra charge, so if you find laundry or drying bothersome, it's perfectly fine to borrow them. As for clothes, your lower half, including underwear, will get wet, and your sleeves will also get quite wet from the water dripping off the paddle. It's freshwater, not seawater. There are separate changing tents and lockers, which is convenient, but there are no showers, so if you're particular about cleanliness, it might be a good idea to bring two towels and wipe yourself down with a wet one. Only cell phones and car keys are allowed on the kayak, and waterproof phone cases and car key lanyards are provided. The provided waterproof cases have been used, so photos may sometimes come out blurry. Upon arrival, after checking in at the tent and confirming your reservation/number of people, they will inform you about the changing rooms, restrooms, and preparations. Once all participants are ready, each person receives a life vest and paddle, then we get instructions on how to get into the boat from land and how to paddle, followed by a short group practice. They explained everything easily in Japanese and English, and the paddles weren't heavy, so even beginners felt comfortable. Before getting into the kayak, we stood holding our paddles for a commemorative photo, then got into the kayaks in pairs or individually and headed into the river. I had booked the experience for 4 PM, but it took about 30 minutes to get to this point, so we actually started kayaking around 4:30 PM. The guide kayaked with us, matching our speed, explaining various things, and taking many wonderful photos. We went upstream on the Hija River, saw the mangrove forest, and once we got used to kayaking, we moved to the river mouth. We watched the sunset from inside the river where there are no waves, then returned, changed clothes, returned the borrowed items, and received the photos, and that was the end. To the guide on December 13th (I apologize, I can't recall your name), thank you for your kind explanations and guidance, the wonderful photos, and the enjoyable conversations. It was an experience I'd love to do again with other family or friends.

We had such a memorable kayaking experience during our wedding anniversary. Miku-san and the UMIUSAGI team were incredibly friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond with thoughtful touches—photography, videography, and sharing their knowledge about the mangrove ecosystem. We’re already looking forward to returning.
