Liberty Wreck - 2 mergulhos em Tulamben com PADI 5* Dive Center

The Liberty wreck is truly a beginner-friendly dive site. You don't need to dive very deep to explore the shipwreck, and you can even see parts of it while snorkeling. The biodiversity is rich, and Rauh from the dive shop was excellent. I hadn't dived in a year, but he patiently reviewed the basics with me and ensured my safety throughout the dive. The downside is that pick-up service is only available in the Amed area. I was staying in a resort in southern Bali, and the dive site is in the east, so transportation was at my own expense and took three hours one way.

This was my first time diving since getting my open water certification. I was worried because I'd only dived four times and was still pretty much a beginner, but they guided me safely and well. They said pickup wasn't available from Ubud, so I hired a driver from my Ubud hotel for 900 (round trip). We left Ubud at 5:30 AM to get there by 8 AM. After two dives, the schedule finished at 2 PM, and we arrived back in Ubud at 5:30 PM. We did one dive at the Tulamben shipwreck and another at the nearby wall dive site. The shipwreck is much more beautiful, but I saw a turtle at the wall dive site. In August, the water temperature was 24-26 degrees Celsius, which felt like a swimming pool – it was heaven for diving. I wore a short-sleeved and short-legged wetsuit, and I ended up itchy and bleeding from touching the coral. I recommend wearing a full-length suit. I paid 300 for underwater photos, and I have no regrets; the scenery is spectacular. Shipwreck diving itself is incredibly romantic. I highly recommend it.
