Our Chinese tour guide, Xiao Zhou, is from Northeast China and is very warm and kind. As it was off-season travel, the overall pace of the trip was just right. The driver was a kind-faced Japanese gentleman. In early October, Shikisai no Oka didn't have lavender, but the rolling flower fields combined with the clear weather were still quite stunning. Furano Farm was slightly less impressive without lavender, but it had many lavender-related souvenirs. On the way back, the guide mentioned that winter in Hokkaido has unpredictable traffic due to snow, with long traffic jams, tired drivers, and a higher risk of accidents. As I prefer a more traditional Chinese approach to health, sitting for long periods isn't ideal. I hope the company can pay more attention to the issue of fatigue driving among older drivers and their physical and mental well-being. Out of the 11 people on the day trip, I was the only one from mainland China, which was similar to my trip to Kyushu in May. Everyone else was young.
Catherine is enthusiastic and provides multilingual introductions, sharing a lot about the local geography and culture. I highly recommend the corn from Shikisai no Oka. The white corn is much sweeter than Taiwan's, and the yellow corn is the sweetest I've ever tasted. In comparison, the white corn has a perfectly balanced sweetness, so I recommend everyone try both. The cantaloupe ice cream is also excellent. Lunch was a buffet, and the fried pumpkin, pan-seared scallops, corn chowder, and mini cream puffs were delicious. The Genghis Khan grilled lamb takes a bit of time to cook through. If there's a lavender pillow making activity, don't worry about it taking too long; it only takes about 5 minutes and is very simple. Just spread out the cotton, put in the lavender pellets, and then place it into the pillow with Velcro. The lavender ice cream is also small, so you don't have to worry about not finishing it.
Tour guide Ms. Catherine is really good and professional! She managed the time well and shared a lot of knowledge about Japan & Hokkaido history, scenic spots, food, and souvenirs. She speaks English, Mandarin, Japanese, and Cantonese. We managed to have time to make lavender pillows and eat lavender ice cream. Blue Pond, Shikisai no Oka, and Lavender Tomita Farm were so beautiful. This spot is highly recommended for summer travel in Hokkaido. We paid extra tickets for the alpaca farm: ¥500 for adults and ¥300 for children, and my daughter loved it so much.
The tour is exceptional. My group caused a delay but we were still able to go to all of the places — time was shortened though for each places. The tour guide is chinese speaking. Although there were two other guides who speak English, but please know that language barriers may be a difficulty. I love how kind the woman is who went with me to go to our hotel. I wish I knew her name.
A delightful and fulfilling day! Many thanks to our guide, Sakura-chan, who was so energetic and patient with both the pick-up/drop-off and explanations, like a good friend to everyone. She repeated important information multiple times in different languages to ensure every tourist understood, and shared many interesting anecdotes, making the journey less boring. Knowing I was traveling alone, she also took extra care of me, which I greatly appreciate! The driver was also very polite and professional, driving smoothly and always on time. I'm so glad I booked this tour; I safely and effortlessly experienced the beautiful scenery of Furano. It was truly a worthwhile trip!
The flowers are very beautiful, even though only 60% are in bloom. The colors are gorgeous. The tour included a meal, which was acceptable. We participated in the lavender pillow activity and each received one pillow, which smells wonderful. Free ice cream was also included, which was great. I recommend this tour.
The one-way journey from Sapporo to Furano takes approximately 2.5 hours, with a 10-minute rest stop along the way. Although the travel time accounts for half of the trip, the beautiful flower fields at Shikisai no Oka are well worth seeing, and the Blue Pond is also stunning. In comparison, Farm Tomita, without its lavender fields, is less impressive. The lunch buffet didn't have many options, but it was sufficient. The itinerary includes a tractor ride at Shikisai no Oka, the buffet, ice cream, and a DIY lavender pillow. All the must-see attractions are covered, offering great value for money.
This is a truly excellent tour. You will experience all the must-see places in just one day. The guide shares best practices to ensure everyone is on time.
Our tour guide, Catherine, was truly excellent. Her explanations were very detailed, and she shared a lot of knowledge about Hokkaido. During the several-hour drive, everyone was tired and would fall asleep. Each time Catherine woke us up, she would gently say "binbong, binbong," which was incredibly thoughtful and cute. I highly recommend this company! Although I speak Chinese, I was the only Japanese person on the bus, and Catherine consistently explained things in Japanese, which I really appreciated! I'll definitely come again! Thank you very much! (The scenery was also amazing!)
