This was a hotel I had stayed at before, and since I was very satisfied with the breakfast, I decided to try dinner this time. They offer an incredibly wide variety of dishes compared to breakfast, and a chef walks around with a gong announcing when new food is available, which was a bit too noisy. Also, since most of the food is tailored to Chinese palates, those who don't like it might feel there's nothing for them to eat. There weren't many types of seafood, but it was fresh and good. As a Korean, I think it would be great if they had gochujang (Korean chili paste with vinegar). There are some dishes you can pick up yourself, but others are brought to you by servers after you ask, so those who are uncomfortable with English might find it difficult. However, the servers are kind and wait patiently and explain things, so don't worry. It would be nice to have a Korean menu, but you can try using a translator. Also, the person in charge of Japanese cuisine enthusiastically told me about the BBQ zone near the entrance, so I went, but the flow of traffic is really bad. You have to open and close doors to go back and forth, and it was a bit awkward carrying food. So, I only went to the BBQ area once and didn't go back. There were many options there too. For breakfast, it was incredibly crowded, but since dinner is pricier, there was a moderate number of people. I was a bit surprised to be given a sofa seat? For breakfast, they gave us a perfect two-person table, but this time they gave us a three-person table, which was great for bringing several plates of food, taking pictures, and eating comfortably. I think it's worth experiencing at least once if you come to Macau. If you want to try new ingredients and have a new experience, I recommend it.
The variety of food is truly extensive. The biggest advantage is that if you don't like one dish, you can simply choose another; there are plenty of options. Different types of food are arranged in different zones, and upon entering and seeing so many areas, you'll be amazed. It takes quite some time to walk around and photograph each one, hehe! As for the food quality, it would be an exaggeration to say it's incredibly delicious, as it's a buffet after all, cooked in large quantities. However, the lobster bisque was a real surprise – no cutting corners, rich in flavor, excellent. The roasted beef was good too, juicy and flavorful. They even have shark fin soup; the first time it was served, a bell rang to announce it, and you had to queue, but not too many people were competing for it, so you were guaranteed to get some. It was braised shark fin, just okay, nothing spectacular but not bad either. The desserts were truly fantastic, a feast for the eyes, and beautifully presented. While there are praises, there are also criticisms: the variety of cold dishes was a bit lacking, and there weren't many sushi options to choose from. As for the lobster claws, honestly, they were overcooked; I couldn't be bothered to get a second helping after the first. Nevertheless, overall, it's of a high standard. What's most important? That my wife enjoyed her meal, and that means it was a success, haha!
Grand Lisboa Palace's buffet dinner is a must-try! It's better to make a reservation for weekends because there are no tables available for walk-ins. You can order a selection of seafood with your desired sauce, and the crew will bring them to your table. The food is of high quality, and you can find some rare dishes such as giant grouper soup and bird's nest sweet soup. (Act quickly or you'll miss them because they are popular dishes)
Grand Orbit is one of Macau's most renowned buffets, living up to its name by offering a vast array of culinary delights. The dinner buffet now includes unlimited made-to-order seafood, allowing diners to order as many lobsters, crabs, prawns, white clams, fish, and squid as they wish. Every half hour, the restaurant also presents roasted whole suckling pig, giant grouper, and chilled abalone (with a hint of spicy numbing flavor). The skin of the roasted suckling pig was a bit tough and mediocre, but the grouper was delicious whether in soup or congee. The slightly spicy abalone was excellent, flavorful and tender. As for the other buffet items, the chilled seafood, despite offering oysters and king crab legs, was only average. However, the hot dishes included foie gras, which is a must-try, and the dessert selection was also extensive and delicious. Considering the price and compared to other dinner buffets, Grand Orbit offers great value for money.
It truly lives up to its name, "The Buffet Mountain," because there's an incredible variety of dishes from all corners of the globe, too many to list. There are at least twenty different desserts alone. I particularly love their egg waffles and grid cakes. There's also a Sichuan spicy section, perfect for those who enjoy a kick. They offer five to six soup choices, and their ginseng chicken soup is genuinely made with quality ingredients. The chilled shrimp, chilled crab legs, and chilled clams are also excellent, and the oysters are quite tasty. However, the sashimi is a bit less impressive, except for the yellowtail, which is better. The sweet shrimp are the shelled version, which I'm not a big fan of. A pleasant surprise is the large BBQ section, offering another exciting culinary experience! Overall, for just over six hundred dollars, it's definitely worth the price! If you love seafood, you can pay an extra hundred dollars when booking for freshly prepared seafood options, which looked delicious (I didn't add this option myself).
This was my first time visiting The Grand Buffet in Macau, and the variety of food was incredible, with everything presented beautifully. I'll definitely be back! You simply can't find this quality for the price in Hong Kong. Even though I didn't have any live seafood this time, I still left feeling completely satisfied, especially with their desserts. I was even able to eat bird's nest, which I never expected to find at a buffet. There were even special moments when roasted suckling pig and giant grouper were brought out with a grand fanfare, drawing everyone's attention – it was truly impressive! I believe I'll come back again for the buffet next time. Highly recommended!
Highly recommended. I'm not a fan of buffets because I don't eat much, and the price of a buffet usually means I can't get my money's worth. However, seeing the high ratings for this buffet and its reasonable price, I decided to give it a try. The conclusion is that it's absolutely great value for money! I went on a weekday, and although the tables were a bit close together, it wasn't too crowded, about half-full. What surprised me most was the sheer variety of food choices; the food stations seemed endless. All the food was delicious. Lunch doesn't include live seafood, so the seafood selection isn't extensive, but there's so much other food that it doesn't matter. This dining experience was very satisfying; it's the best value buffet I've ever had. The only issue is that the Grand Lisboa Palace's transportation isn't very convenient; it's a 5-10 minute outdoor walk from the light rail, which would be tough in summer. But overall, it's highly recommended, and I will definitely go again because I only managed to try half of the food options this time.
