If you are a whiskey fan, I 10/10 recommend it! Our tour guide was absolutely incredible! She was so knowledgeable and friendly, she absolutely made the experience more memorable. Meeting at the train station was easy. The distillery, the tastings, and being able to purchase their whiskey along with other items... Absolutely amazing! A true highlight of my trip to Japan.

Fuji-san was a truly incredible and friendly guide who really helped share the unique cultural and historical aspects of the Asahi Museum and Yamazaki Distillery. She was great at considering the overall group, making sure we had enough time to enjoy all the sights and sounds. The tour first visited the Asahi Art Museum, which hosted many amazing art pieces and historical artifacts, including Monet's famous water lilies. That was quite surprising and a unique opportunity I never thought I would have. The second location, the Yamazaki Distillery, was a highlight because we got to tour the distillery, immerse ourselves in whiskey making, and also had the opportunity to do a tasting the "right" way – both by itself and as a highball cocktail. This was quite a unique opportunity, definitely a bit of walking but worth it. I originally wasn't selected in the lottery for the original Yamazaki Distillery tour, so I opted to sign up for this Klook tour. Klook was much easier, and I think it was an overall better experience than I would have had on my own.

We took a tour with Yumi-san of the Asahi Group Museum Villa and the Suntory distillery museum in Oyamazaki. We were very surprised by Yumi-san's attention and effort; she was very approachable throughout the tour, helping us from the beginning, answering any questions we might have, and even accompanying us back to the station. If you are looking for a relaxed plan where you can learn about the history of whisky making in Japan and contemplate the wonderful artisanal works at the Museum Villa of Art, we 100% recommend not missing this tour. We emphasize the professionalism of all the staff at the distillery/villa, with special emphasis on Yumi-san; we couldn't have asked for a better guide.

It was a wonderful experience! After learning almost everything about the distillery, both my palate and my heart could feel the passion of the Yamazaki craftsmen. Our guide, Sachiko-san, was very kind and knowledgeable, and the Yamazaki staff also shared a lot of information. Thank you so much for such a hot day. I will definitely participate again if I have the chance!

A must for whiskey lovers and a good experience for those who are not. Pre-book ahead as slots are hard to get. Maximize the tasting opportunity after the tour at the bar (since you can’t buy and bring home whiskey bottles).

I had the chance to visit Yamazaki Distillery along with the Asahi Art Museum, and honestly, it was an experience I will never forget. The weather was a little gloomy that day, but it actually made the visit feel even more special and peaceful. What truly made the tour stand out was our guide, Yumi. She was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about what she does. The way she explained the history and craftsmanship behind Yamazaki whisky made everything feel alive and meaningful. It didn’t feel like a tour it felt like a story being shared Walking through the distillery and then visiting the art museum was the perfect balance of culture, history, and beauty. This was without a doubt one of the most wonderful tours of my life, and a big part of that is thanks to Yumi. I’m truly grateful for such a memorable experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan.

The tour guide was very attentive. It's impossible for regular office workers to participate in a lottery, so joining this tour directly is the way to go. The overall itinerary involves a brief visit to the art museum, and then heading to the whisky distillery. This tour includes a whisky tasting class, and after the class, you can even buy distillery-exclusive whisky! 👍👍

The tour guide Yumi was wonderful. During the tour, she shared information about The Yamazaki Distillery, as well as local insights and related history. It was a very lovely tour, and we will 100% join again if we return to Kyoto.

The Suntory Yamazaki Distillery Whisky Museum & Tasting was absolutely unreal. Every detail was intentional — the history, the craftsmanship, the precision behind each bottle. You can feel the legacy and pride in every part of the experience. It’s immersive without being overwhelming and elevated without ever feeling pretentious. Every pour felt purposeful, and I walked away with a completely different appreciation for Japanese whisky. What truly made this exceptional was our guide. She was phenomenal — sharp, engaging, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. The way she explained the flavor profiles and production process made everything click. She didn’t just lead the experience; she elevated it. Her passion was obvious, and it made the entire tasting feel personal and unforgettable. She deserves a raise. She deserves recognition. She deserves every good thing coming to her. I genuinely would not have wanted to do this with anyone else. 10/10.

Both the art museum and the Yamazaki Distillery tours are highly recommended. During the distillery tour, the saccharification tanks and distillation room are particularly worth visiting, and the aroma is captivating. Our guide, Woohee-san, was incredibly thoughtful; upon hearing it was my father's birthday trip, she even presented him with a small birthday gift at the end. Thank you!
