Spring City Resort This time, we used a Klook package that included one meal and a two-hour hot spring private room for 3,500 NTD. Upon arrival at the hotel entrance, staff will assist with valet parking, as guests are not allowed to park their own vehicles. It's good to be prepared to tip when leaving, to avoid an awkward moment with your wallet. The dinner was Japanese cuisine with a fixed menu, so no other choices were available. Overall, it was decent. After eating, you can take a stroll around the area before returning for the hot springs. The pace of the itinerary was quite comfortable. The private hot spring room showed some signs of age, with an older decor style, but the room itself was spacious, and the bathing area was also large. The sound insulation of the main door was average, but since we visited on a weekday and there weren't many people, it didn't significantly impact our experience. What was rather perplexing was that shortly after we entered the room, a housekeeper knocked on the door and said our time was up. We were completely bewildered, thinking, "We just arrived; did time fly by, or is our life being fast-forwarded?" The housekeeper later confirmed the mistake, apologized, and left, but this little incident was indeed a bit baffling. Overall, although the facilities and decor of Spring City Resort show their age, the service was generally acceptable, and the environment had a relaxing, resort-like atmosphere. Considering one meal plus a two-hour private hot spring room for 3,500 NTD, the value for money is still reasonable, making it a suitable place for a relaxing hot spring getaway.
1. It was easy to find the shuttle bus location and the bus time schedule was accurate. 2. The hotel is quite old, and the private hot spring areas are old too. 3. Though the private hot spring tub is old, it still works perfectly. 4. There are small snacks and bottles of mineral water provided. 5. Lastly, it was our first experience with a hot spring, and we enjoyed it. I'm glad that we booked a private hot spring room as we could still rest and relax after the hot spring.
It's easy to get there by train, then take a bus to the hotel. It has different pools and you don't need to bring anything else, except swimming suits. After a soak, we walked down to Thermal Valley, just a few minutes away, and had a spring egg before entry. Then we walked down along the stream to New Beitou train station and transferred to Tamsui, where we hired a bike to Fisherman's Wharf, just in time to watch the sunset. We had a great time.
I visited twice within a week. For Koreans, a great tip is to definitely bring a tumbler full of ice. Only hot water comes out of the water dispenser, and drinking ice water while enjoying the hot springs is much more pleasant and enjoyable. The shower stalls were a bit cramped, which was inconvenient, but other than that, everything was satisfactory. My dad tried about 5 day-use hot springs in Xinbeitou, and he liked this one the best and wanted to go again, which is why we went twice, haha.
For those considering a day trip to Xinbeitou and wondering about places that require swimsuits for entry, I've provided detailed information here. (Especially for Korean visitors) As it's a sulfur hot spring and an outdoor area, there might be a smell, and small leaves or insects could be floating in the water. However, staff regularly clean and remove them. Since it's an outdoor hot spring, this is unavoidable when the wind blows. Nevertheless, if you desire a relaxing hot spring experience and an open-air atmosphere, I highly recommend it. The cold water section is particularly refreshing and convenient. It's an optimal itinerary if you're tired after a Yehliu-Shifen-Jiufen tour and need a place to rest the next day, or if you're staying at a Beitou hotel and looking for a place to visit before check-in.
Went on a weekday so there was only a few people at the public bath. Spent abt 2- 3 hours just relaxing and soaking at the different pools. will book again. They do provide shuttle service but do reserve the time slots with the hotel staff for the return journey to Beitou or Xinbeitou. To get to the resort, there are timeslots which you can take the shuttle. For me, i walked up to the resort as i visited the Thermal Valley before walking a short distance to the resort.
This is a great hotspring resort to go to for beginners. If you're not yet comfortable with the general public hot springs this one is great as you can wear swimsuits. We had booked the outdoor hot springs which were great and the variety was appreciated. Unfortunately we had not checked the weather forecast prior to picking a date and the outdoor hot springs were closed early due to the storm. Thankfully they were kind enough to let us use the private hot spring room which was also a nice experience. *Also should be noted that currently the shuttle bus pick up area is near the right side of the MRT Beitou Station from Exit 1 and can also be used for free to return to the station.
I visited **Spring City Resort Hot Spring** in Taiwan, and it was a relaxing experience overall. The outdoor pools had a good variety of temperatures, from warm to very hot, and the atmosphere was peaceful. The facilities were clean, though some areas felt a bit dated. It wasn’t too crowded when I went, which made it even more enjoyable. The shuttle service from Beitou MRT was convenient, but the resort itself is a bit far from the main attractions. While the experience was refreshing, I think it’s slightly overpriced compared to other hot springs in the area. Still, it’s a great spot if you want a quiet and comfortable soak.
The hot springs were relaxing. The free shuttle was useful. Be mindful that there's a schedule for departures to and from Xinbeitou MRT station. There were plenty of pools at the resort, but they were small and could get crowded easily. The locker room was also small. The price is okay. Not bad at all for what you get.
The public pool where you wear swimsuits will lend you a yukata, large and small towels, and slippers that you can take home. You only need to bring your swimsuit. For your hair, they provide a swimming cap. The on-site price on weekdays is 800 NTD per person. Buying a voucher online for 529 NTD saves quite a bit. All the pools are outdoors, so you'll get wet if it rains. The temperature is only around 40 degrees Celsius, which isn't too high, and I'm a bit dissatisfied with that. The strength of the SPA pool jets is also weak. One of the other areas feels more like a sprinkler. I still prefer the strong SPA jets at Chuan Tang Hot Spring in Jiaoxi, Yilan. The spring water is slightly off-white, and the sulfur smell is light. The pools are small and not numerous. There is no steam room or sauna. Valet parking costs 100 NTD. Swimsuits on-site are 490 NTD for men and 2000 NTD for women.
