Physical tickets can be exchanged at Amanohashidate Station, where staff speak English and can provide maps. However, the bus to Narai-ji Temple was very confusing. Before boarding, the station staff insisted that ticket holders purchase a "Narai-ji Temple admission fee" of 400 yen to get on the bus, but those walking up and down the mountain or driving themselves were not charged. There are no walls on the mountain or in front of the temple, allowing complete free access. This effectively turns it into a bus fare? This is consistent with previous reviews I've seen.
