Since we were staying one night in Kanchanaburi, we booked a two-day private car charter. The car company contacted us via email three days before departure to confirm the departure time and itinerary. Safari Park is further away and requires an additional charge. The driver was very friendly, communicating with us using simple English and Google Translate. The journey from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi takes about 2.5-3 hours. When we told the driver we needed a restroom break, he stopped at a gas station for us. On the way to the hotel in the evening, he even asked if we wanted to stop at a convenience store to buy anything. The long drives between Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, and various attractions were always smooth and safe with the driver. Upon arriving at attractions, the driver, although not obligated to be a tour guide, would tell us what there was to see and even helped us take photos. For example, at the Bridge over the River Kwai, he told us what time the train would pass, encouraging us to stay a little longer to see it. Overall, this private car charter service allowed us to have a wonderful two-day, one-night stay in Kanchanaburi.

The company will propose itineraries based on our needs, and even on the day of the trip, we can still discuss the itinerary and duration of stay with the driver, which is quite flexible!

There are two car charter services on the platform. I chose this one because it was cheaper, but it turned out there was an additional charge for the Death Railway, plus an airport surcharge, which made the price similar to the other service (the website did state the areas with surcharges, but I didn't realize the Death Railway was in one of them). Anyway, the service was satisfactory. The driver was punctual and polite, could communicate in simple English, and made an effort to introduce the scenery along the way. It took about 3 hours from the airport to Kanchanaburi, with one stop at a gas station for a break. We frequently changed our itinerary, and the driver was very accommodating, even offering to take photos for us. When the popular cafe we wanted to visit was closed, the driver immediately asked local friends and recommended a similar one, which was great. The driver also didn't fuss when we ran over time for dinner. The itinerary was confirmed via email on the same day, and driver details were sent the day before the trip.

The driver, Mr. Suk Sanguan, was punctual, polite, attentive and flexible towards impromptu changes we made to the itinerary along the way. He would advise if the suggestions were doable. We were aware of the surcharges to go to certain areas that were further from the town center, but were still appreciative to the tour company for informing us of the extra/double surcharges we might incur and offering us alternatives instead. The vehicle was new, spacious and comfortable for 3 of us. Driver was always careful in his driving, so it was a smooth and relaxing ride on both days. Would definitely recommend this to those who prefer customizing their itinerary and having a proper and comfortable transport between Bangkok and Kanchanaburi for 2 days or more.

The driver was very punctual and nice, but it would have been better if he had suggested I change into slippers when entering the national park.

We departed around 8 AM, and the driver arrived half an hour early, with a very friendly attitude. We spent too much time at the Ancient City and missed the Death Railway train, but the driver still completed the entire planned itinerary. In the end, we went over by 1 hour and paid an additional 300 Thai Baht. Kanchanaburi involves a lot of driving, but fortunately, the car was very comfortable. Overall, it's still highly recommended.

Der Fahrer war pünktlich, aber aufgrund des engen Zeitplans fuhr er sehr schnell, was zu einer ziemlich holprigen Fahrt führte. Der Van braucht Wartung, da wir die Klimaanlage auf dem mittleren Sitz kaum spüren konnten. Der Fahrer ignorierte uns, als wir ihm sagten, dass es warm ist. :(
