It's rare for Stepmom and my sister to visit Hualien together, so I specially arranged a Hualien jade DIY class. Master Zhong Ronghua of the workshop was awarded the title of "National Craftsman" by the Ministry of Culture and "Taiwan Craft House" 👍🏻. First, there will be a guided tour to learn about Hualien jade, Taiwan jade, black jade, rose stone, and imported jade, a total of 7 types of jade. The rough stones all have different patterns and colors, and when paired with different shapes, each has its own unique characteristics. It really makes one indecisive. Finally, Enzhuo and I both chose Indonesian blue obsidian, while Stepmom and my sister both chose Hualien rose stone. After selecting and polishing, the master will help with trimming, fine polishing, and drilling. 現場會提供多種玉石讓你挑選 石頭事前都已經先製作出大概的形狀，挑選好自己喜歡的玉石後，就會由專人教你如何進行打磨。 不用擔心自己第一次打磨會做不好，因為過程中都是可以慢慢嘗試的。 完成自己的部分後，還會再由專人幫忙進行細部調整，讓成品的形狀更加漂亮。 打磨完成後，接著會選擇打孔的位置，後續的打孔與拋光則會由專人協助完成。 等待拋光的期間，可以先去挑選自己喜歡的線材。 現場有兩種類型與多種顏色可以選擇： - 📿 當項鍊的線：可當項鍊配戴 - 🧿 當掛飾的線：可以掛在包包、手機或其他地方當作小吊飾 等拋光完成後，現場人員會叫你過去，再把剛剛挑好的線材交給他們，最後組裝完成！ 整個過程最有趣的地方，就是可以自己參與玉石的打磨，而不是單純買一個完成品。 最後拿到自己親手參與製作的玉石，也會多一點紀念價值。

Choosing and polishing your favorite jade, it turns out, transforming a raw jade into a desired shape involves several steps from grinding to polishing. I never knew how complex the process was until I participated in it.

This was a great experience to learn about the type of jade found within Taiwan and Hualien. We got to shape our own necklaces which was a great experience and a souvenir that has an extra layer to it! We were the only ones there since we were traveling during off peak season and had great staff and instructor to show us what to do. My boyfriend wears his all the time! Also great value for money and we’ve gotten many compliments about the price and quality of the product.

This is great for parent-child activities. Besides explaining the properties of various stones, the shop owner is also very friendly. It's recommended to avoid the summer holidays so that the masters have enough time to assist with custom shaping and trimming! The shop also has a wide variety of creative works available for purchase. Those who love jade and stones should definitely go and explore for treasures!

Good experience for family. Only want to try how to do the polishing of our own jade. They have wide ranges of jades to choose from. Even provide educational tour like explaining about the different jades and where they are mined from. Chosen jade that are from Taiwan more significant. While did the polish by our own, the shape abit kind of off but the staffs are so kind enough to help us do the final touch out. A great xmas gift for us.

The store looks professional and spacious enough for many people to work together. The owner is also very nice, and the recommended lunch is delicious.

帶兒女一起去體驗，選自己喜愛的玉石磨亮，很有意義和紀念價值，這個手作DIY體驗真的很棒，也很適合親子一起做，下一次還是會推薦大家去。

體驗：算是蠻特別的體驗，藉由預製的小玉石，簡單磨細之後，再由師傅精細的打磨，最後得到小巧的小飾品玉石。我們是自行繪製圖案。
