“Sleep No More” Shanghai is a truly unforgettable and one-of-a-kind immersive theatre experience. To fully enjoy it, here are some tips: your Didi or taxi may not be able to stop right at the entrance—get dropped off at St. Regis lobby across the street and walk over. Although entry time suggests arriving 30 minutes early, many guests show up much earlier to get better positions. Start your evening at the bar with a non-alcoholic drink (best to avoid alcohol—you’ll be standing and walking for 3+ hours). No phones allowed inside. Read up on the story if you want, or just follow one character for an hour at a time to see their arc unfold.

It’s been 3 days and I’m still thinking about the play. Unlike traditional theatrics plays, viewers or “ghosts” get to roam around the set, explore props and follow actors to watch the various scenes unfold. To understand the story, viewers have to piece the different scenes together. It’s near impossible to understand the story in 1 sitting if you go in uninitiated as different scenes will unfold concurrently with different actors - hence if you plan to view it once, do some reading on Macbeth to draw parallels to the core storyline. There are side stories that support the main themes - read up on Rebecca by Alfred Hitchcock (movie) or Daphne du Maurier (book) and the Legend of the White Snake for the Shanghai run. Wear comfy shoes as you will be walking for ~2 hours and do expect some pushing as other guests might chase after actors. Have fun and may fortune favour the brave!

Apparently, the drama is a combination of "Butterfly Dream" (Madame Butterfly), Macbeth, and Rebecca. I would recommend looking into these three in depth before coming to see the drama, as it would be more understandable and engaging this way. The residents were great. Although it's a bit expensive, wow, I would definitely come again next time I'm in town.

Although it was a performance I had been looking forward to, I was not feeling well on the day of the reservation, so I agonized over whether to go or not. However, I decided I didn't want to have any regrets, so I visited the venue, and it was an excellent choice. I thought I had diligently explored for three hours without a moment's rest, but what I saw was just the tip of the iceberg. It's shocking. I want to see it at least ten more times in the future. Thanks to Klook, I was able to book easily and had a great visit. There were no inconveniences at all during the ticket collection process. I will definitely use it again next time.

I went with such high expectations that Sleep No More was the most important event of my day. I deliberately applied for Package A and, fearing I'd be late, waited an hour beforehand to be the first one in. They said there would be a lot of walking, and indeed, with the audience rushing around, you really do move a lot. Since it's coming to Korea soon, I definitely want to experience how different it will be from the Shanghai version.

我曾是伦敦“溺水者”的忠实观众，它关闭时我非常难过。参观“不眠之夜”让我对伦敦的那场表演充满了怀旧之情，能看到它真是太棒了。演员们非常出色（我得到了两次一对一互动！），我强烈推荐任何来上海旅游或居住的人去看这场演出。

바로 전세계에서 뉴욕과 샹하이에서만 체험할 수 있는 이머시브 공연 슬립노모어!!! 올해 우리나라에도 대한극장 건물 리모델링 해서 들어온다던데 궁금했던 차에 들어오기 전에 보고 싶었는데 이렇게 짬이 날 줄이야 5+1층짜리 맥키넌호텔을 자유롭게 돌아다니며 체험(?) 관람(?)하는 공연으로 마스크를 한 개씩 쓰고 시작하는데 너무 재미있고 흥미로웠다

Sleep no More was truly a unique and magnificent experience like no other. The staff are very friendly. There were previous comments saying that the staff were rude but we believe it is just a language barrier. they have greatly improved by providing English instructions in written text. Actors skills were superb. Just really lots of walking up and down the stairs so wear comfy sports shoes since there is also a crowd
