price: this is considered cheap for me
experience: underrated museum. If u go to Osaka, go to this museum. Although it’s not an open-air museum, the experience was great and the museum really tries to make u feel that u’re in the Edo period Osaka. The old houses, items in them, and the details are superb, they really work on this museum to bring the Edo period experience and vibes to us.

What an amazing feat to be able to build a entering housing street on the level 9 & 10 of a building. I have gain much greater insights pertaining to the evolution of housing and living conditions of Osaka since 1800s. The modern exhibition at level 8 is also amazing with the mechanisms that worked with the video. All in all it’s an unforgettable experience!

The tour of the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living was very enriching. It was amazing how the Japanese have maintained their traditions while simultaneously progressing into a modern society. Booking tickets in advance via Klook saved us time queuing.

Era una hermosa réplica de un pueblo antiguo que mostraba la construcción de casas de madera y viviendas. Lo fascinante es que el pueblo está construido entre los pisos 8 y 10 de un edificio.

This is my second visit to the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living, and this time it was a special arrangement for my honeymoon with my wife, as she loves taking photos! I must say, this place truly is a paradise for photography enthusiasts.
The weather outside was very cold, but the museum's interior was quite warm and comfortable, allowing us to relax and slowly appreciate each exhibition area. Transportation is also super convenient; the exit is right above the museum after getting off, so there's no need to walk far at all. It's perfect for travelers like us who have luggage or have just finished an outdoor shoot.
The museum not only displays the streetscapes of old Japan but also features many interactive scenes, which are very interesting. My favorite part was being able to wear a kimono and blend into the scenes for photos, creating special memories. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves history and culture, photography, or family trips – it's definitely worth a visit!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, which offered a fascinating glimpse into traditional Japanese life and culture. This enchanting destination is a haven for those who appreciate timeless customs and heritage. The added charm of seeing many visitors adorned in traditional kimonos only enhanced the experience.

I didn’t expect a beautifully curated museum to be on the top floor of a building. A little hard to find but once you do you’ll love it. It really does transport you back in time into the old Osaka (Naniwa) with the townhouses. Highly recommended to anyone who is interested in art & history.

really good little museum. hard to find, its on top floor of a building opp macdonalds and end of shopping arcde. watch the 15-20min video shown in the bathhouse which explains the history of the place, era etc. give yourself 2hrs if you take your time to look around.. you can rent kimonos here to but its a bit dark - unless you use flash.
