Avaliações
For me, the event was very inspiring - I was able to sit very far forward, participated in the tea ceremony, and had the chance to take good photos. The food was good and plentiful. The host spoke in a way that was understandable to me, so I could follow everything well. But the greatest praise goes to Meiko, who designed every section of the event very well. Clear recommendation!
This is a great way to see a maiko up close and personal. I highly recommend booking as soon as you know your date. If possible, pay extra for the front row seats so your view is not obstructed. It's not the nicest setting – it's like an old classroom – but for the price, it's enough for a first-time experience. Dinner was better than expected. The location was easy to find.
I can see how this activity could disappoint. The night we went, it was perfect. But there are a lot of seats, and if they were full, it could have been disappointing. We paid 2200 pp extra on arrival to sit up front. 800 pp is second row, and third row is even less. Otherwise, you’re stuck in the last 3 rows of the room, even if the place is not full. The dinner is traditional Japanese. I liked it, but my kid did not. If you add the tea ceremony, it will be served at the start of dinner time. Everyone watches it, even those who didn’t pay. But you’ll get your own tea set to participate. Then they’ll bring out your dinner (those who did not book the tea ceremony add-on will be eating already). Drinks are an additional price. You don’t even get water with the meal. Only about 3-4 people can be selected to play games, and the gift is a tiny self-adhesive sticker with the Maiko’s name on it. The interpreter was good.
I originally booked a lunch experience with maiko, but Klook contacted me and informed me that it was already fully booked. They changed my reservation so that I got the maiko experience for the evening of the same day. The experience included an English-speaking interpreter who interpreted for the maiko, and we got to ask questions and take pictures with the maiko. We also played a game with maiko. Even though it wasn't a lunch experience, I was still served lunch. The experience was very successful, and the cooperation between Klook and the experience provider worked well. I got my money's worth, even though I didn't get the experience I originally planned. I'm glad everything went so well and I got the full experience. My own experience included: Tea time with Maiko, Q&A, photo with Maiko, Maiko performed two dances, game time with Maiko, and also dinner because my lunch was moved to the evening.
Maiko was beautiful, her dances stunning. We could ask questions and my 12-year-old son got to play a game with her. I enjoyed lunch and you can buy drinks. I had a wine, my son had a coke. The only downside was the venue. It was like sitting in a classroom, not very intimate or visually appealing.
Maiko ile tanışmak harika bir deneyimdi. Matcha'nın nasıl yapıldığını gösterdi. Soru-Cevap kısmından çok şey öğrendim. Ayrıca bizimle dans etti ve oyunlar oynadı.
This was such a fantastic experience! I loved meeting our maiko and listening to her answer our questions. I highly recommend it!
Maiko and her team were very friendly. I learned a lot about the life of a Maiko and how she transitions to a Geiko (also known as Geisha in the Tokyo region). Maiko danced for the group and also demonstrated tea preparation.
I chose the lunch event with a maiko. She arrived just a few minutes after everyone had sat down. We were served our lunch while also being allowed to ask the maiko some questions. It turned out she was very new to the craft. She also allowed us to take photos with her. Then she performed a dance for us, which was a delight to watch. At the end, we were served dessert and allowed to participate in a game with the maiko. It was an enjoyable experience and gave a good insight into Japanese culture and what a Maiko/Geiko does and is about. I definitely recommend this event if you’re visiting Japan for the first time, like myself. I’d advise picking seats closer to the stage.
